playmaker47 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 What color of Senkos produce the best for you guys? Quote
phisher_d Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 hmmm... I couldn't find anything about colors in the "Got a question about senkos" sticky thread, so here goes... I like most of the dark colors but my favourite would probably be watermelon w/ black flakes. Quote
playmaker47 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 yea I looked in that Senko question section of the forum, and i couldnt find anything about colors either so thats why i asked this Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 20, 2006 Super User Posted February 20, 2006 I personally think you only need two colors. A shade of green and black. Then there are variations with sparkles, swirls, etc. All of last year I only used two colors of senkos and it cut down on a lot of the clutter in my tackle bag and made picking a bait a whole lot easier. It was either Watermelon w/ red sparkles or Black and blue laminate. Quote
Tenka Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 The local club "classic" last fall was won with a yellow senko with red and green glitter, the only senko to catch anithing that day. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 20, 2006 Super User Posted February 20, 2006 Dark. 42, 194J, 208 & 297 will cover it all. Quote
Triton_Mike Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 If Yamamoto discountinued the 031 (Blue Pearl) color in Senko's and Flat tails I'd be in BIG trouble!! The 031 color is the closest color to mimic teh color of baitfish. Silverish with silver flakes. Awesome color for spots. T Mike 1 Quote
JT Bagwell Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 My absolute favorite color of Senko is Black with Blue glitter. There are others that I will use if my favorite isn't producing that day, but overall Black with Blue glitter takes the cake for me. JT Bagwell 1 1 Quote

Other. Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Green PumpkinWatermelon/ red and black flake BABY BASS, perfectly mimics many types of sunfish Also Junebug is good I like to see the variety of diffrent bass fishermen here. Some think that diffrent colors of diffrent lures can immitate diffrent kinds of bait fish and there others that think only natural colors immataite what they look like. Ex. some belive A 6 inch worm can immatate a minnow. However for me no matter what the color is a worm immitates a worm nothing ealse. Quote
Brian_Reeves Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I just bought a pack of Yamamoto Senkos in watermelon with black flakes and then I bought a Tiki Stick in Smoke/Shad. Anyone have any luck with Smoke/Shad Senko-type baits? Quote
0119 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I have caught alot of bass on Shad color Kinami Flash in the 4" size, in ultra clear water. I tried the Tiki Worm in the shad color, that is lamenated with a white belly. No bass but plenty of landlocked saltwater fish like Snook and Reds. Quote
