Super User Long Mike Posted December 26, 2012 Super User Posted December 26, 2012 Very poor, but I have accidentally shot down two Cesnas Quote
scrutch Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 It's awesome here! I killed probably thirty the other day until this farmer came running at me with his shotgun. Man I barely made it out of that barn alive! I still don't know why he was so mad at me. The nerve of some people! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Poor. there isnt many ducks around here. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted December 28, 2012 Super User Posted December 28, 2012 I'm not a duck hunter but I had 3 buffalo heads come in while I was coyote hunting next to the creek the other day. Don't know if they were just coming in for the heck of it or if they came to gray fox in distress lol. Quote
11justin22 Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Went once so far and killed 5..... Quote
preach4bass Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 The inland hunting in the swamps around Eastern NC is poor. No migraters here yet, so we're just shooting a few woodies and the occasional mallard. However, I just got back from a three day hunt in Stuttgart, Arkansas and we had a great hunt. It was during the full moon so we were expecting a tough hunt, but the first two days we killed 29 and 32 birds respectively. The final day was a bust (only killed four), but the guide took a gamble to put us on a spot that would have given us the hunt of our lives or nothing. We got the nothing, but we were all onboard with the gamble. Now, it's back to the swamps around home and blasting away at the woodies. If you haven't hunted Stuttgart, you should. We had a great, hard working guide, who did an awesome job of putting us on birds under tough conditions. Quote
11justin22 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Haha I live in Arkansas and have never been to Stuttgart, I need to make a trip there sometime. Quote

Dave P Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Crap until last week and we're on the verge of getting frozen over this week. Quote
11justin22 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Are there a lot of ducks and rice fields in your area? There's ducks here but I don't think quit the numbers of Stuttgart. I live in the northwest corner in the ozarks. No fields just mountains. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted December 31, 2012 Super User Posted December 31, 2012 Awesome, but don't tell anyone Quote
preach4bass Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 who'd you hunt with in Stuttgart? Quack Attack (B.J. West) I would highly recommend him. Great guy, and knows how to put you on the ducks. Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted January 1, 2013 Super User Posted January 1, 2013 It's been spotty here. There were actually quite a few ducks during early season which is suprising since we had a major drought and vegetation is down. However, with this latest cold snap I have been seeing fewer birds. I usually like this coming week for ducks, so I guess we will see. Quote
tstone Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I don't duck hunt, but I have a buddy that does and said it has been great. Quote
