Anybody use these for smallies in rivers?? I've caught just about every species on them I think. Just haven't got them to the river yet. Thanks. Color suggestions are welcome too. I've done we'll with the all white and white and pink. Good fishing to you all and happy holidays.

Roadrunners and beetle spins both can be surprisingly effective on river smallies. Seems like the solid colors like white, brown, and black are the best colors for me most of the time.

Caught a 4lb river smallie on a blk with a small yellow mr twister trailer, that was about 8 yrs ago haven't really fished em much lately but then again I don't do that much river fishing anymore

I have fished roadrunners for years on the Mississippi River with great success. Since the mighty Mississippi is muddy I usually white or chartreuse

Yes, of course they'll work (is there an echo in here?) They slay crappie and walleye too.

 

I'd recommend checking out the "Northland Whistler Jig." I just prefer the design over Roadrunners. The prop design slows the jig on the fall, and also gives it a nice fluttering action. Similar type of lure though.
