bandsr4me20 Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Which type and size treble hook do i need to get for the regular 1/2 oz lipless crankbait like the trap or super spot? Also, who makes the top treble hooks? Quote
Nine Miler Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 #4 or #6, sometimes a combo of the two...Usually 4's will be fine. Try Gamakatsu Extra Wide Gap or Round Bend hooks, Owner Stinger 31, or Mustad Ultra Point Triple Grip. All three are good. I prefer the Gamakatsu hooks. Some people like to put a dressed treble on the tail, like this- http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/dressed-treble-hooks/ Quote
BobP Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 X2. I like #4's Gamakatsu Round Bend or EWG's front and back. Some brands come with #4 front and #6 rear. I'll leave the #6 on there until I see how it works, but usually end up changing it to #4. Some guys go a step further and put short shank #2's on their 1/2 oz lipless baits (including world #1 Kevin Van Dam). Hard to argue with success. Quote
ToledoEF Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I use owner ST trebles, Imo there isnt a more sharp hook for the money. I get them at Janns for 3.97 per pack. Quote
