gar-tracker Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Those fish are buckled down. Of course someone could hit the mother load flipping. Tomorrow will be worse. Quote

bocabasser Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Rob, i was on the lake all day yesterday. we had 6 bites and caught 4 fish. the water was 57 degrees when we put in at 9am. all of our bites came when the water reached 65 degrees. i did learn something new, you can take the inside trail from the seven mile ditch all the way down to cochranes. our biggest fish was 3 pounds. Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 24, 2012 Super User Posted December 24, 2012 I pretty much only fish canals in and around Delray, the bite has been very good with fish up to about 8#. The last few days the bite has considerable slowed down, only 4 Sat and 2 Sunday, in about 2 hour outings and nothing with any size. I probably had more short strikes the last 2 days than I've had in 6 months, fish are not too aggressive. Quote

Oh yeah, do you know about the north trail, at this level you can run from Okee Tanti to Clewiston staying inside pretty much the whole trip. Keep in mind thats at this level. How did the inside of moonshine look, did it open up or is it still all clogged up? Quote
salmicropterus Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I went to Lox yesterday and it was pretty much skunk-city. Planning to go again Wednesday and the Lake Thursday. Hopefully with this warm up, the bite will get better. I think a little 5 degree front is coming thru late Wednesday. Florida fishing this time of year. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 24, 2012 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 24, 2012 ok guys, it''s educate FishinDaddy time. On Google maps, coming out of More Haven is a trail headed almost due north towards Monkey Box/Dynamite Pass. Is that open and passable? Also I keep hearing "7 mile ditch" and don't know where that is. I just got a fishing hot spots map and don't see it. Quote
1234567 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 If I'm not mistaken I believe what you mention is seven mile ditch. I ran through there a month aga and water level was six foot in the middle. Id stay close to the middle as I believe. I saw some boulders on the sides a couple times. I would think it should be ok to go through to the box. Take a left off the ramp and it should be the small canal on your right just past the locks near the campground opposite side of the canal. 1234567 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I'm not sure as the one I'm referring to I thought was a more easterly path. Quote
chobee Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Gar tracker I've run that trail a few times fishindaddy contact me I'll be on the lake a few days this week North end and West side Quote
salmicropterus Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 that canal running north from Moorhaven and the 7 mile ditch are one and the same. It should be runnable with no problem but I would agree to stay to the middle. Lake is 15.11 and that ditch is pretty runable down to 13, maybe even lower. Quote

David, I was at Lox yesterday afternoon from about 2:00 - 5:00. Did a little scouting trip for my trip this morning with my son. We did just ok this morning...found one area that had a little bit of a moving bait bite...my son was able to catch two bass. When the bluebird skies came out, that was done, though. Caught about a dozen each day...mostly flipping. Quote
