Zoff Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I was helping my brother move into his "new to him" home. Guy they bought it from was, according to him, "Really into fishing". We went into the attic to store some stuff and there was a Mitchell 1160G spinning real on a South Bend Seahawk 5'6" Medium Boat Rod. My brother gave me the setup as he does not fish. So... tell me about the reel and rod. Is the 1160 any good? It is missing a screw and I want to know if it is work fixing. Is the rod any good? What is a "Boat Rod"? Seems short to me. Any help? Super User slonezp Posted December 22, 2012 Super User Posted December 22, 2012 A boat rod? Short? Probably for trolling. Mitchell made indestructible reels. I have only used them for casting for salmon in the 70's Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 23, 2012 Super User Posted December 23, 2012 Contact Wayne Knabe in Powhatan and ask him, 804.239.6751. If any one knows it will be Wayne. Wayne also repairs and cleans rods and reels. Quote
Zoff Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 10-4. Does he do reel tuning as well? Quote
