backwater4 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Anybody have any luck with them. I just purchased a few. Quote
soccplayer07 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 yep. great bait. i have great success in water a little over 50 degrees to about 60. Deadly when ripped out of grass! Quote
whoopbazz Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Caught some nice fish last year on a sexy shad version. Not saying they're any better than another lipless Quote
bear7625 Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 They are, without a doubt, one of the best lipless on the market! Quote
backwater4 Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Thanks for the input. I'll be trying them out in a few weeks. Quote
JigMe Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I ordered a few from TW last week, going to try them out this weekend if it doesnt rain. Quote

Super User ww2farmer Posted March 12, 2010 Super User Posted March 12, 2010 Never heard of them....are they new or something? Has anyone won anything on them? : Quote
21farms Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Never heard of them....are they new or something? Has anyone won anything on them? : heh-heh...this is exactly why strike king pays KVD almost $500,000/year! Quote
backwater4 Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 I know Strike King says they're good, but I tend to rely on more down to earth feedback from everyday fisherman. If I got paid $500,000 from a company their baits would be great. Quote
BigEbass Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I caught my first 5+ lber just a few weeks ago on a bright orange red eye shad - then the next cast a 7....id say I am a fan - having said that, I use bill lewis, cotton's, and a couple others and have caught on em too pretty regularly.....I suspect its more about size of the trap and color than anything else Quote
BigEbass Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 I will add that I especially like them because they are so versatile - I fish em shallow, deep, slow - my neighbor 3 weeks ago threw one out and got a huge bird's nest - he was picking at it for a couple minutes - there was abolutely no tension on the line - and all the sudden a fish was on - he was holding the rod/reel and I was pulling in the line - I swear that fish picked it up off the bottom...anyway, you can do a bunch with em - its a staple - and I absolutely keep on tied on if there if there are bass schooling or busting on shad!! tholmes Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Red Eye Shad are quickly becoming my favorite lipless crank. I caught quite a few bass (both LMB & SMB) on them last year, so I picked up several more when our local Wally-World put them on clearance for $1.00 ea. ;D Tom Quote
ShizzleHallowizzle Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Red Eye Shads are awesome. I typically dont fish them around any brush or submerged trees. I stick to using them around different grasses and weeds. I dont like to fish them too shallow, but if the conditions are right, they will work well there as well. I would definately go with gold and silver...based on the clarity of the water, and I have had a quite a bit of luck on green gizard color. Quote
Primus Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 I've had a lot of success with this bait, I own several and it's definetely one of the best trap style baits on the market. Quote
