Super User retiredbosn Posted December 19, 2012 Super User Posted December 19, 2012 On Alaska State troopers (nat geo) they were talking about escorting the kids to school because of eagle attacks. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 19, 2012 Super User Posted December 19, 2012 I wonder if the eagle thought the baby was some sort of small animal? Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted December 19, 2012 Super User Posted December 19, 2012 Now they are saying it was faked. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted December 19, 2012 Super User Posted December 19, 2012 I wonder if the eagle thought the baby was some sort of small animal? Babies are small animals, literally. 1 Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted December 19, 2012 Super User Posted December 19, 2012 "Holy ****" I have never seen anything like that. From catfish eating pigeons to eagles snatching babies. CRAZY!!! Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 19, 2012 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 19, 2012 Total fake: http://cosmiclog.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/19/16021454-that-kid-snatching-eagle-video-fake?lite I live around eagles, and knew instantly that this was a fake. That didn't look like a golden eagle for one, and that "baby" was way too big for an eagle to target. Quote
Quillback Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 They should have saved it for April Fools Day. Quote
quanjig Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Go to YouTube and search golden eagle, watch them pull mountain goats off the side of mountains and think they wouldn't be opportunistic in snatching a small child! Quote
Fish Chris Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 I wonder if the eagle thought the baby was some sort of small animal? A baby IS a small animal. A juvenile **** Sapiens, to be more specific. BTW, Golden Eagles (larger than Bald Eagles) can / do commonly catch / kill Coyotes ! I'm sure they would prefer a smaller, or weaker, or sick Coyote... But if they don't have any choice.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh ! Hey ! True story.... About 2 years ago, we had two dogs here. One was a medium sized mutt (Rhani). Probably say, 25-30 lbs ? So, I was sitting in my bed room, with the sliding door open. All of the sudden, Rhani starts just screaming, squealing, and basically flipping the heck out, like somebody was trying to kill her ! I jumped up and ran for the back door, but just as I got to it, she came bolting past me into my room ! A quick look over her didn't reveal any injuries, but you would have thought she was dying for all her screaming ! I went outside with a flash light, but could not find anything to explain what had just happened ??? So, the next evening (still barely light) Rhani was sitting in my room, looking out through the open sliding door...... but didn't want to go out {very unusual for her}. When she suddenly starts growling, and backing back into my room ? So, I go to the back door, and I look all around the back yard..... Finally, I look up to the support piece on top of a telephone pole, and their was a HUGE Hawk sitting up there, looking down toward my room, eying Rhani at my back door ! Guaranteed it tried to catch / kill our smaller dog the night before ! Good thing it wasn't a smaller dog ! A Chihuahua, or something that size, would have been a goner..... and an easy meal ! Birds of prey are SOOO coool though Here's a couple shots I took of a Juvenile Golden Eagle near my home here in Nor Ca...... Peace. Fish Quote
