xmoto071 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 which is the bottom hook and how weedless is it really. Quote
CPBassFishing Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 the bottom hook is the one straight in front of the hook eyelet when the eyelet is flat......if that makes sense....how weedless? depends on the application. ex. a squarebill crank is more weedless than a lipless. Quote
craww Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Ive cut them on some lipless cranks before in areas choked with algae. Didn't seem to hurt the hook ups. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted December 19, 2012 Super User Posted December 19, 2012 I have done it one my square bills and they get hung up even less frequently and it seems to bounce of structure better. I saw it on alton jones facebook page when he was holding up a fish from falcon lake caught on a crank. It is pretty easy to tell which one it is by laying the split ring flat and there will be one hook that protrudes from the bottom of the bait....take out your snips and cut it off and you will be fine.
