Favorite Casting Reel For Weightless Senkos

Since much of my fishing is weightless and lightly weights plastics I'm looking to put together a light weight rod and baitcasting combo. My citica 200e is much better at this than my curado e7 or revo sx. I am looking at quantum smoke pt for it light weight or a lews tp speed spool. What works for others?

I have no problems casting weightless soft plastics with either of my Curado 51E's. They will cast and handle smaller baits better than any stock 200 sized shimano reel. I have one spooled with 20lb braid on a St Croix 7' med. power/fast action LTB, the other with 30lb braid on a 7' St Croix MH/F LTB.

I like my curado 50e. Having the right rod really helps. My NRX 893 is a senko machine, but in reality senkos are pretty dense and heavy most casting equipment will do fine.

The lews would be excellent at throwing senkos. Stay away from the smoke for light weight. I can bomb 3/8 jig with it but it can cumbersome with smaller baits, the problem is not enough adjustment. I personally throw them with a johhny Morris reel that does really well.

Now that I own one, I've been loving the Daiwa Lexa 100 for Senkos, other, lighter worms, weightless.

I use a Daiwa Alphas, Daiwa Furgo, and Curado/Chronarch 50 for lighter baits but I tend to focus more on the rod, usually M/F. A weightless senko, a REAL senko, is pretty heavy for what it is, I haven't had a problem with throwing them with any of my reels.

Went to Dicks Sporting Goods on an errand,wandered to the fishing section to look at reels and walked out with a quantum energy 100 hpt and accurist 30 which are on sale for $99 and $40. The energy 100 hpt has a solid and smooth feel, 8 plus 1 bearings. Will put some line on today and report back how it casts. Looked at the rods and was amazed by the quality being put out by the big companies in the $100 range. Looked at the Reese line of rods when they first came out and felt they were low quality promoted by a big name. Checked the Tessera line out yesterday and was impressed by the light weight, seemingly quality construction, reasonably priced with life time warranty for under $100. The shimano, berkley, and new rage rods by St. Croix felt great. Also ran across some $50 rods by field and stream (tec-spec) that for the money sport the latest split grip handles,real seats, and micro guides and also felt great. I grapped a couple for my son who tends to be very hard on tackle.

Revo-S. Senkos are heavy enough that you shouldn't have any problem casting one.

Im surprised I havent commented on this yet. Anyway, a vote for a 50E, a good M or MH rod, and some YoZuri 12#. Just add a little KVD L&L to really make it sail!

According to my little digital scale, a 5" Senko and 3/0 ewg hook weighs about 3/8oz, which is about the same as a 7" Powerworm, 1/8oz bullet weight, and 3/0 ewg hook. Don't assume a soft plastic lure is "light" just because it's weightless.

it really dont matter. as said before it is heavy enough.

I choose to throw mine on a Lews TP paired with a dobyns dx743 on 12# line.
