fstr385 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Ill be hitting a lake or 2 tomorrow in weston in the afternoon then trying to figure out where to comb an entire lake Saturday. I have a sweet spot in pines Imma see if I can get a key to get into if I can. Might be able to take someone with if my buddy bails on me. If not, prob back to a couple weston lakes. there is a small shallow canal I discovered in coral springs holding some fatties I might stop at Friday evening, or Sunday. There is 2 lakes right near it also. Quote
aceofspades Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I've had good success fishing the lakes in the various business parks throughout Broward. On the weekend, especially on Sundays, there's no one around and plenty of parking with easy access to the water. I just look for the no fishing signs to figure out where the best spots are. Quote

Cypress Park is walking distance from my house, almost :-) I was fishing there two weekends ago right by the play yard, while wife watched over the kids Needless to day, I got skunked bad! Quote
H00kedOnBass Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yea it's not one of my best spots either but what would be the fun of me giving away all my honey holes? Quote
globalchaos Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Been having some bad days of late. Found a lake with a bunch of Peacocks in it but didnt catch any. My friend caught a few. Trying to figure out a spot to head to tomorrow and hopefully have a good day. Quote
fstr385 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Yea its been slow. Me and my girl went out yesterday, of course prob the worst time of the month and day and think we ended up with only 5 landed fish in a 2.5 hr time. The biggest was maybe 1-3/4lbs lol. Last weekend we were at wolf park, there are peacocks there. Seems they like spinners, and golden shiner jerk baits there. Next time I might catch some shiners and cheat with a few there. I have a feeling this weekend/mid next week is goin to be better guys. Quote

This may be obvious to many of you here, but for those who may not know, the best possible advice is fish on a real cloudy day! If there is no clouds blocking the sun the fish sit under cover and barely move. Unless you can cast into spots under shade like trees, bridges, docks and heavy grass the fishing will be tough! Also learn about barometric pressure!! On days the pressure is rapidly dropping the bite goes off anywhere you are! Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 8, 2013 Super User Posted February 8, 2013 I was at Cypress Park a few weeks, gotta say I've never done well in that area. Even my hot spots in my neighborhood have slackened off the last week or so. I've been just going thru the motions to get out of the house in the afternoon for an hour or 2, not serious about bass fishing now. I've been putting my efforts into barracuda fishing, haven't seen one in 2 weeks (seeing doesn't mean catching), not abnormal for that species this time of year, for me well worth the wait. Quote
