bkohlman Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I teach 5th grade in a middle class town in KS. At the beginning of the year I challenge my students to read and pass a comprehension test on 11 different genres before Christmas break, if they meet the goal they get to choose a prize that I will buy them, under $10. Last week I had my second student pass the challenge. She is a sweet little girl who does not seem like an outdoors type at all, and then she wanted me to buy her, her first tackle box. I was so excited, went to the local BPS and bought one for her. Her smile was so big today when I presented it to her! What an awesome day! 2 Quote

quanjig Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I wish some of my grade school teachers were more creative when it came to motivation!! Quote

Shewillbemine Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Be honest. You didn't walk out of BPS with just that tackle box did you? Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 11, 2012 Super User Posted December 11, 2012 That was a nice thing to do. To reward a youngster for doing good work is something that seems to have fallen by the wayside. When she does something nice again don't forget Shimano reels and G. Loomis rods!!!!!! Keep up the good work. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 11, 2012 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 11, 2012 Awesome thing you do there Brad. Who was more excited, you or her? I coached 11-12 year olds who never played baseball. I know exactly how you feel. Quote
