rmcguirk Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 I gotta tell ya 'Monkey, you're killing me. Between the sales at retailers and sponsors and the deals in the flea market, I'm spending money like a drunken sailor. What's really killing me is that my season is over, so I can't really do much more than dream about using my new toys. Quote

rmcguirk Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 ahhhh, that moment you get new baits and realize you have to wait several months to use them. Bait Monkeys fault If only it just some new lures/tackle. Got plenty of that, too, but also picked up two casting rods (one new and the other new to me), one new to me casting reel (still need one more) and one new spinning set up. All prices were outstanding and I got great deals, but... Good thing the wife loves me. Quote

Loop_Dad Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 right now Ok, I see their '25 days of savings" thing going on. Is that what you are referring? If so, the deals are very limited to what they selected... Quote
RyneB Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 yeah, but 20-60% off select items is pretty good to me. Not to mention free shipping over $50. There black friday sale they had everything 20% off. You can get a dobyns and kistler rod for real cheap. Cant remember the last time i seen that good of prices. Also, check there sale items. Quote
plumworm Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 At my age, I don't buy anything until the day I go fishing. I don't buy green bananas either. Quote
Sun Fish Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Can anyone please fill me on on the story behind the bait monkey? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 21, 2012 Super User Posted December 21, 2012 Legend has it, The Bait Monkey was orphaned in Mexico where he was rescued by a kind young veterinarian many years ago. The young man was a very bright doctor and an avid fisherman. He took the little monkey everywhere, but the animal became fascinated with lures. The aspiring doctor's career blossomed and he became deeply involved in research with the Mexico Department of Fisheries. As the doctor became more affluent, the monkey's taste in lures began to change. His focus now switched to Japan. This was the beginning of The Bait Monkey. Over the years he has developed the mysterious ability to influence the buying habits of fishermen all over the world. His spirit rests on our shoulder and whispers in our ear, "We need that". Btw, that brilliant man that created The Bait Monkey is our very own Dr. Raul or less formally, Raul. Quote
