Topwater Pete Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 So I was finally on track to purchase a LTB today at Cabella's when i was completely spun around by a Legend extreme 7'0''.I picked it up and was blown away by the feel. It just seemed to melt into my hand. I just spent a week of reading post after post till I could hardly see the screen. Today I made up my mind on an LTB and then this happens. So know the question is do I get the 7'0'' MFcasting or the 6'8' MFcasting or even the MXF? It will be used for poppers, walk the dogs, xraps, 3"" grubs and flukes with jigheads and also 3" big hammer swimbaits. Also just incase the bait monkey jumps on my back--------- in the spinning rod, 7' or 6'8'. Mainly open clear water humps and shoals and rocky shores. All you Extreme owners please help. Quote
Crappiebasser Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 The own a 68mxf and it's the best of the 2 for what you need. The new grips take some getting used to though. One thing to note, the baits you listed are all action baits and don't need as much sensitivity as a jig or shakey head IMO. I would save a few bucks and get the Avid 68mxf instead. You can get 2 Avids for what an Extreme costs. Quote

I would get two avid's, they're fantastic rods for the price, albeit a little more tip heavy, but it shouldn't be very noticeable with the medium power. But ultimately it's up to you whether or not you want to swing it for an Extreme, or two avids. Quote
