Tom Monsoor's Swim Jig?

I was at a seminar ar BPS last weekend and they were talking about this jig. They did show a film clip of them fishing this jig on a TV show, and all I can say is WOW. I would just like to know if anyone has fished these little bruts ? :-X They were fishing them in the pads and never got hung up coool. : :-? 8-)  So I had to pick up about 11 jigs and I am ordering more. They were fishing the 5/16 and 7/16.

I bought a few of them in 5 and 7/16 oz.  I like the look and the design.

I'm trying to fish more with jigs this year too.

Why do they call it a SWIM Jig, do you fish it any differently than a regular jig?  Do you reel it in slowly without stopping?

Yes you swim it back to the boat. It is fished like a crank bait but at a slow speed.I did real well last year doing this. I have fished them over the tops of weeds and in pads. And hang on, they hit the jig hard.

I have used these jigs quite a bit since they came out. I think you will find they are a well made product with a good hook. I mostly throw 1/8 and 1/4 oz sizes in these jigs, and if you try those also you will find that you can bring them over and through most any cover. Usually fish these like a c'bait or slow rolled s'bait. You can follow the bottom, or keep them in the uppermost part of the water column (as I mostly do). Terrific in clear water vegetation type areas. Balance of the jig/trailer is critical, and when you have that you can retrieve the jig at nearly any speed w/o roll-over. You don't have to fish it slow all the time, sometimes burning it back is the answer.  When it is running true you can throw it almost anywhere. Having said all that, I prefer a Brovarney jig over all others that I have used for this technique. Balance, quality components and handtied skirt. JMO. I think you will be happy with the Monsoor also. I sometimes will throw this 90%+ of the time, 50* water and up.

I have the booya swin'n jig i fished it a few times with no luck!!!! :'( But i still am going to give them a try this year for sure!!!!!

I use them a lot, I put a 4" grub as trailer and just reel it in at slow speed. Great in top of grass.

what rod and line are you usein with that??

The rod is a 7, MH and the line 8lb. P line.
