dam0007 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 My buddy owns the shop I could swap out something I bought at Walmart if I wanted too And it was like 300 times not just 3. Lmaooo Quote
dam0007 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 So swapped out for the new reel today, my buddy said he's heard that the hot sauce works best when the reel desperately needs oil and that he doesn't have any experience with it of his own. So I was thinking about a old Shimano Sienna I have, $30 reel. This reel was bought for scenerio a buddy who doesn't have gear tags along. Any how so I get home reel was pretty rough, all I oiled was the right and left bearings of where the handle goes. Reeled a few times let it sit 10 mins or so later spinned it for idk maybe 200 cranks. Night and day difference. Still not smooth but much much better. Think I'll keep this stuff and try it out on some of my saltwater gear mid season next year. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted December 11, 2012 Super User Posted December 11, 2012 That Sienna is a good little real. I just got one from NAFC. Put 30# braid with a YoZuri leader, and I use it for finesse fishing on a M action rod. This thing is smooth, and handle fish real nice. Its a 2500 series, and is perfect for small baits. Cheap, maybe, but perfoms like a $80 reel. Quote
dam0007 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Yea its def a cool budget reel. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted December 11, 2012 Super User Posted December 11, 2012 never again will I dissassemble a new reel. You never heard "If it works don't fix it" I'm a skilled tradesman. I posses skills men yearn for LOL. If my truck breaks down, I take it to a mechanic. If my boat motor breaks down, I take it to a mechanic. If my reel breaks down I take it to a mechanic. If my heat, a/c, or fridge breaks down, I fix it myself, I am a mechanic. Trying to save money, more often than not, ends up costing people more. You are very fortunate you have a buddy who can warranty your screw up. 1 Quote
dam0007 Posted December 11, 2012 Author Posted December 11, 2012 Well it was more of the initial work which I've done countless times and never a prob that caused the problem. Lol so yea ur right! Quote
