jignfule Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Wondering how many of you were fortunate enough to caught a Personal Best in 2012. Quote
(='_'=) Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 me!! i have been fishing for only 2 years (this and last)... last year i caught one a bit over 5 pounds, and 20" long and this year, on the same lake, and less than 100 yards away from the spot i caught that one, i caught this one, 5.5 pounds, 21" i know these are small fish compared to most of the ones we will probably see in this thread, but so far thats my personal best... hopefully next year i will be able to get me a bigger one... im heading down to that lake again in 2 weeks, maybe i will be able to top the 5.5#... 2 weeks ago we caught a lot of fish there, none of them was bigger than 5 pounds, but 80% of the fish were 3.5 pound or best, with 3 or 4 reaching the 20" mark... so who knows, maybe we will get lucky on our last trip of the year... flippin and pitchin Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Both A-Jay. I can't believe it because I barely fished at all this year with everything that was and is going on in my life. Maybe 2013 will loosen up. I can only hope. 1 Quote

Shewillbemine Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Me too. Couldn't determine which of these two was the larger one as they were caught on separate trips. The first is chunkier and the second is longer. Quote

Crappiebasser Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Does it have to be alive because I found a 13.2lber floating belly up this summer? 1 Quote
Shewillbemine Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Does it have to be alive because I found a 13.2lber floating belly up this summer? In that case, I'm counting the dead whale that was found on the beach. Quote
Super User Grizzn N Bassin Posted December 4, 2012 Super User Posted December 4, 2012 i got 2 personal best this year one in july which broke my 5 lbs pb the one in my tag was 7 and half but i think my scale was broke bc it was an old spring scale... then i got my digital scale and got my 9.3 LMB a few weeks ago but i was on a canoe in the rain with no phone with me so i guess it doesnt count Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted December 4, 2012 Super User Posted December 4, 2012 Goose52, man that's a beast of a head/bucket on that bass! Hey Darren - too bad she didn't have a belly to match her mouth - she would have been over 10lbs! Goose - That is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE Bass photos. Thanks A-Jay - I have an 8x10 of that shot on my "fishing wall"... Quote
11justin22 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Got a 7.6 LM back in the summer right after dark, actually caught another 6.5 in the sam spot bout a month ago. Also got a 4 1/2 brownie. My dad got a smallie that was 61/2-7. We didn't have a scale but it was the biggest smallmouth I have ever seen in person. Quote
Jake P Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 My avatar. 6.2! she is the reason I'm hooked on kvd 1 & 2.5's.... The year isn't over though, hitting the lake one last time before 2013 this Sunday. Wish me luck!!! Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 4, 2012 Global Moderator Posted December 4, 2012 I got 2 PB's this year. Both the same day and obviously neither one of them were bass. Not sure on the exact weights since they both bottomed out my 50lb scale but my PB for both flathead and blue cats were under 50 pounds so they're both for sure my new PB's 5 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 4, 2012 Global Moderator Posted December 4, 2012 Time to get a bigger scale ! I went out and bought a 100lb spring scale the next day . If one bottoms that out I'll be looking for a certified scale to see if I have a state record. Quote
