Busbey Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Might not compare to some of you guys but i have possibly doubled my personal best. Unfortunately it was yesterday at my brother in laws in Okeechobee behind his house. 2 part rod and spinning reel combo from Walmart for $20. pretty much just keep it in the truck to get away when i have the chance to drink a beer and escape from the kids Need some help with sizes. Had nothing with me but the rod and a worm. For comparison, i am 6ft and 185 link below has more. https://picasaweb.google.com/117715227965940810058/December32012?authuser=0&feat=directlink Quote

BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 4, 2012 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 4, 2012 <<<<<------------------ That one is a 7 that Taylor caught last year. She is 6' tall. I would say 4-5 and a young healthy fish. The head is still small for a 5 lber and she should gain two pounds a year for the next few years. The dark tan tell me she is a resident shallow fish, meaning she lives right where you caught her and not likely to leave on her own. Catch her again next year and she will be a 7. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted December 4, 2012 Super User Posted December 4, 2012 Conservatively 4.5. Could be stretched to 5 1/4. Quote

Busbey Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 haha thanks guys. caught in 2ft of water in a maybe 6-8ft pond. very small golf lake Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 5, 2012 Super User Posted December 5, 2012 5ish. Nice job from the bank. No question a boat is a huge advantage in being able to cover a lot more water. Bank fishing Florida can be highly productive in the areas that we can fish. We can cover a fairly large expanse of shoreline in canals and community ponds casting parallel and weedless. Quote
Bigbarge50 Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 I would say just shy of 5lbs, but no matter what a great fish. Very impressive considering the gear. The depth of the catch is not a factor I think, plenty of big ones in that shallow. Fl people can correct me, but some big ones might be cruising shallow in pre-spawn patterns as we speak correct?
