Super User roadwarrior Posted December 3, 2012 Super User Posted December 3, 2012 Keep an eye on the Flea Market. You should be able to pick up a Curado 200E NIB or gently used in your price range. Quote

Diggy Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 But can the lews mg for $130 handle braid well? Anybody have one? I have one, it handles braid well. It had a short frogging stint for me, worked well, casts well. 150yd spool, long handle, I believe 14lbs of drag. Its magnetic braking only Quote
The Next KVD Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I would think that all reels made today should be able to handle braid, all rods today do. With that in mind my vote is get a Citica! Mine handles it well. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 My frog rod has a Lews MG in 7.1 to 1 with 50 lb. Power Pro. It casts both buzz frogs and hollow belly frogs well. Some one here had a couple for sale I recall but that back in late May. I have a Lews Super Duty (Braid specific) in 7.1 to 1 on the way. You may want to hang on before you buy anything. Just a thought. Quote

Arv Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Looking for a reel to put on a mh or h 7 foot rod with braid for jigs and some frogging I got a Citica 200G7 spooled with 50# Power Pro for $70 if you want it. You got the reel and the line you're lookin for for a lot less than you'd spend otherwise. Also got a few rods in the 7' MH/F range you may want to check out too . Quote

I wouldn't be turning that one down, Matt. I have a couple of D series Citicas that rock with braid. My Lew's MG 7.1 is currently running 65lb power pro, and it works well too. I picked it up from a member here for 65.00 with less than a season of use. Still would be looking hard at that Citica! Quote
Matthew Veillion Posted December 5, 2012 Author Posted December 5, 2012 Well guys, im buying the citica from Arv. Should work really well! Thanks for the responses Quote
BirdNestBen Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 A gen2 Revo sTx works awesome with braid and it even has the wiffle spool to help with line tying... This reel is as smooth as butter with powerpro braid... I've fished it several years and have yet to put mono on it... Quote
