BirdNestBen Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Well recently it's gotten real bad... started collecting lures as a hobby and don't fish with the vintage ones... some lures I sold I wish I had back are pretty rare now... 2 billy bass lures... Anyways- I've bought a few really cool looking lures lately and I'll try and get a pic up of one I recently bought... If you have a rare or unique lure, or just your favorite lure pic I'd be interested in seeing it being a lure junkie.... Quote

tbone1993 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 wow can't wait to see that... they gotta be worth a ton being that old !!!! Not really. Old does not always = rare. Your best bet is to find off the wall brands that used to be popular but are no longer around. Quote

wnybassman Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I have a small collection of older and newer "Highroller" topwater baits. The bait idea was conceived by Blake Gills many years ago, who eventually sold them through the Smithwick brand. Somehow the ties were lost with Smithwick and a company was born called the High Roller Fishing Lure Company. I think Blake was hooked up with this company for a period of time, but somehow left or was asked to leave. Can't remember the full story. Anyway, about a dozen years ago I was in contact with Blake for a while and he sent me a matching pair of large and small Highrollers custom painted and signed. Quote

Super User *Hootie Posted December 4, 2012 Super User Posted December 4, 2012 wow those are super nice... what is the creek chub worth in the first pic?? Don't really know the value. Have never bothered to check. I've had that particular lure for about 35 yrs. I doubt if my entire collection has any serious monetary value, (don't really know) just a lot of memories and nostalgia.
