Suffix 832 Braid Ghost?

has anyone used it because it says its hard to see underwater but im not sure if thats true and if anyone knows any other good braid for spinning reels please let me know ill probably be putting on 10# or 20# on my spinning reel

I haven't used the ghost yet, but I have 20# hi vis yellow on one rig. I use an Alberto knot to connect some kind of leader, usually 8# fluoro or CXX.

I have used many braids and the ghost is a sweet looking braid, but it seemed like when I was using it for jig's and T-rig's I couldn't get any hit's. I then switched to my sunline and got bites. So idk if it was just the timing or the line. I ended using the line for top water and it's was awesome for that! For a spinning rig I would try the new Sunline sx1 it's a sweet line as well. Ghost is advertised as hard to see underwater but IMO it's easier to see than green. It is made of the same fibers as any other color so it's not a special translucent material. It's good line as far as performance though. I prefer hi vis Power Pro 30lb with a flouro leader on spinning reels.

It will depend what your doing with it but I like the smaller diamiter of Nanofil but it has it's own set of problems.

This past week I fished a stretch of my home canal a few miles away, the first day I fished as I normally do, hard jerkbait with a short leader connected with a swivel. The second 2 days I deviated and fished a weightless fluke with about a 6' leader connected with an alberto, all 3 days the catch rate was about the same, 8-10 fish in little over an hour. The biggest fish were caught on the fluke, probably more coincidence than anything else. Yesterday I fished the same fluke rig in my home canal, 1 strike in about 90 minutes, I lean more to the opinion it's the body of water more than the actually set up.

I use nanofil on the lighter stuff, 6-8 #. I realy like this dental flooss feeling stuff for spinning. I use 832 green on a few reels, including baitcasters. Great line. I used the ghost because the green worked out well and was disappointed. The ghost seemed stiff and didn't flow out as well. Probably a bad spool or my imagination? either way, the ghost it off, I tried to like it but it just wasn't as smmoth as the green 832. I have slick8 on a few now and it throws real nice but seems to fray, not bad but a little. I have som ultra-cast invisline coming today from a BF sale to try out next.

Having a flouro leader helps out with just about all my braided lines, except top water.

thanks everyone ill probaly go the 832 in green than with a nice fc leader i just want something with a little more strength and little more less stretch

thats my big worry spending 20 bucks on a horrible line and end up spending another 20 on something else

I've been using 832 Ghost on a couple of my spinning reels and have been very pleased with how it handles. Regarding color it looks more like White to me which is why I fish with an app. 10' Floro leader joined by an Alberto knot. I like it because I can see it a lot better above the water than Green colored braid.

hows the abrasion resistance? and what type of fc leaders do you guys usually use?

This was my first season with this line and I didn't notice anything negative in terms of fraying etc, I also used an 8 lb Suffix Florocarbon leader on 1 rod for weightless Trick Worms etc and on my dropshot rod I used 6 lb Suffix Floro.

I only fish powerpro braid and it casts awesome and is long lasting... The way I do it is tape my knot down... I don't use backing and it's never give me a problem....

Not that the knot takes any kind of time to tie, but for bass fishing just taping the line on the spool is adequate, you will never get spooled. I don't use backing either and never had any kind of slippage. Some like electrical tape, I like masking tape, I don't see 1 being any better than the other.

White lines become very hard for the angler to see when viewed against the glare caused by a slight chop on the water. Most yellow lines provide an easier target to follow on the water.

I totally agree. Orange is another color that shows well, though not as good as yell in low light.

I just put 10lb ghost on my sustain, i dont really like it. I definitely prefer power pro. Im in the same boat, dropped 20 on this and now ill be back dropping another 15 for power pro

I use yellow superline and put red accents on it. That contrast makes it more visible in most lighting conditions.

I'd be very careful making that generalization. Fishing line opinions are like... well... opinions of most anything else. 832 is very good braid; some opinion givers haven't given as much time to using it as they have spreading their opinion.

I use braided lines almost exclusively for freshwater, inshore and offshore saltwater fishing, I do fish before the sunrises. I'm just as pleased using standard green, no need to see the line for me. I do have hi vis yellow on 1 setup only because I liked the way it on my reel.

I agree, heres my 2cents...

Ive used power pro, super slick, berkley pro, fireline, nanofil, sufix performance, sufix 832, and spiderwire. When it comes down to it, the power pro, berkley pro, and sufix performance were all great and the cheapest. I like power pro the best because it also has yellow and red colors...

If you are thinking red for visibility, yellow may be a safer bet......I have seen what red can to to an interior when it bleeds
