matstone7 Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 You Know You're A Die-Hard Bass Fisherman When....your winter equipment includes a snow shovel and bags of salt so you can access the boat launch. 1 Quote
Bass-minded Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 You can spend hours fishing, catch nothing, and be happy. I love that!!! Happens to me quite often. Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 You keep strike king and bps catalogs in your work truck so if its a hectic day you can relax by looking at some tackle. True story! you take the hooks off of a jerk bait so your son can play with ”daddies fishies” while you mess with your tackle just for fun. True story. Both of those are quite true here too.. Only my son plays with a Zara spook with no hooks. Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 When you are the only Deputy in the history of the Sheriffs Office to get written up for fishing on duty...then written up again when they find a two piece rod in the trunk of your patrol car during an inspection. True story. 2 Quote
Pete-K Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 When you are the only Deputy in the history of the Sheriffs Office to get written up for fishing on duty...then written up again when they find a two piece rod in the trunk of your patrol car during an inspection. True story. Had a buddy meet me at Pickwick to fish. He had transported a inmate from Middle Tn to Memphis tn. And ran 100 miles out of his way to make the fishing trip. Then told the Sheriff he had car trouble. LOL We did catch fish though. When you buy a new bass boat, Take off 7 months and fish 7 days per week. Sure worked a lot of OT to save the cash to do this. But I will tell you I would do it again in a heart beat. Nothing like fishing until you burn out doing it. I was on the water before first light and loading the boat in the dark. Now I can do it all the time. But my back will not allow me to do it. Thinking about learning how to fish sitting down and find someone to do all the hard work. You know back the boat in and pull it out. Get the dipnet and drinks... Quote
Super User bigbill Posted January 3, 2013 Super User Posted January 3, 2013 You know your a die hard bass fisherman when during a february snowstorm your watching Hank Parker on TV fishing with a bomber crankbait when you jump up and drive to walmart and buy the whole rack of that lure and color. Yup i did just that. Of course i had to wait till spring because the ice was on. Quote
TheKingFisher Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Your wife catches you scoping out every body of water you may pass by while driving, and she says to you "really? Is that all you think about?". True story. I get grief from my wife about this so now I torture her with it. Now I openly ponder if there are fish in just about any body of water we drive by. I've also started to wonder about all the water in the off ramps on highway exits and how I can park close enough to check them out. Some of them look pretty good! 1 Quote

Broke bass fisherman Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 You get distracted during your "intimate times" by what you think the fish will be doing in the AM and what rod setups you will be using. Quote
