Super User Sam Posted November 27, 2012 Super User Posted November 27, 2012 Here we go again with the college football coaching carousel. At this time there are eight major progams seeking new football coaches. In the SEC Conference there are four dumpster fires that need new leadership. Colorado is so far behind every other school in the PAC 12 that it will be interesting to see who they can attract. NC State is a beautiful school in a great part of the country but like Kentucky, the only balls that count are the round ones that bounce. There will be other openings as we go through bowl season and it will be very interesting to see which coaches go where. So what coaches are being sought by these eight schools? Don't know but the ones being touted include Gary Peterson of TCU, Rick Petrino and John Gruden. Tubby from Texas Tech has been rumored to want to return to the SEC Conference. We do know that negotiations and talks are being held with the coaches' agents and agreements are being considered. And don't forget to cheer on the Big Fat Elephants against the Nuns in the BCS Championship game so that Satan can go to the Browns and never return to college football again. So what have you heard or who would you like to see at your favorite school that is seeking a new head coach? Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 27, 2012 Super User Posted November 27, 2012 Chris Peterson to my Hogs. Petrino to Auwful, because they need a little more scandal in their lives. Art Briles to TN, and Kentucky will get someone like Sunny Dikes from La Tech. Jeff Quote
Super User Root beer Posted November 27, 2012 Super User Posted November 27, 2012 Saban will not go to NFL. He won't have the same level of control in the NFL as he does at Alabama or at college level. Quote
Al Wolbach Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Keep hearing the names of John Gruden and Charlie Strong mentioned for the Tennessee job. They should hire John Chavais away from LSU.........................Al Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 27, 2012 Super User Posted November 27, 2012 Gruden will not leave ESPN for anything but the NFL. Charlie Strong's stock has fallen over the past weeks. Getting Chavis back to UT would be good for them. Really I don't care who gets any coach as long as my hogs hit a home run! Jeff Quote
11justin22 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Chris Peterson to my Hogs. Petrino to Auwful, because they need a little more scandal in their lives. Art Briles to TN, and Kentucky will get someone like Sunny Dikes from La Tech. Jeff I would be delighted with Peterson or Paterson for that matter. Rumor started up last night that we offered les miles. Oh I hope that's not true. The man can win but he is a blithering moron IMO. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 28, 2012 Super User Posted November 28, 2012 Well, there is so much denial of Gruden's offer to coach Tennessee, it might be true! Quote
7mm-08 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Well I'm really pleased with the Mark Stoops hire. I don't think the Cats have the local recruiting base to ever be elite but getting decimated by Vandy two years in a row..frickin mathletes of Vandy...was too much to bear. I guess I kinda know how UT fans felt losing to us lol. Quote
shootermcbob Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Louisville's president is on record saying he will pay whatever it takes to keep Strong there...of course, that means nothing if Strong wishes to go elsewhere. Also, with Louisville going to ACC, that might be enough to keep Strong? LSU's Les Miles took advantage of a little "preliminary" flirtation with Arkansas to reap a new contract & extension. Also, hearing/reading Auburn is interested in Bobby Petrino. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 29, 2012 Super User Posted November 29, 2012 Also, hearing/reading Auburn is interested in Bobby Petrino. Of course they need a little MORE scandal in their lives! Jeff Quote
Al Wolbach Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Another name I keep hearing in the local rumor mill for the new UT head coach is Jimbo Fisher from Florida State. Who knows? The arguement for John Gruden is pretty convincing: 1. His wife is from Knoxville and her family is here 2. She was a cheerleader at UT 3. He was a Grad assistant at UT 4. They currently own land in Dandridge, TN 5. The owner of the Browns is from Knoxville, a huge UT supporter, and is rumored to have offered Gruden a part ownership to sign with the Vols. Although he needs him in Cleveland. 6. Everyone is strongly denighing everything concerning Gruden. These are the local rumors and I have no personal knowledge of any of what I have written. So there you have it. Must be true.......................Al Quote
Al Wolbach Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Of course they need a little MORE scandal in their lives! Jeff Might be a good fit actually. They could serve their sentences concurently, lol..................Al BTW for you mods, why does it have 0 warning points under my number of post? What have I done? Or not done? Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 29, 2012 Super User Posted November 29, 2012 You have not done anything wrong. Its a mark of good character. Keep it up! Jeff Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted November 30, 2012 Super User Posted November 30, 2012 Chris Peterson to my Hogs. Petrino to Auwful, because they need a little more scandal in their lives. Art Briles to TN, and Kentucky will get someone like Sunny Dikes from La Tech. Jeff It's my understanding that N.C. States number one target Is Dykes. I know he's been interviewed. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 30, 2012 Super User Posted November 30, 2012 Yea, Kentucky already hire Stoops. So now I am saying, Peterson/Gundy to my hogs, Petrino to Awful and Briles/Fisher to TN. Jeff Quote
Al Wolbach Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 There is so much talk locally of John Gruden that now the local TV news calls them "grumors" instead of rumors. The rumor mill is now saying a news conference will be called next Friday Dec. 7th. I still like the idea of John Chavais for Tennessee but the AD wants head coaching experience so that rules out Chavais. Jeff I would not be disappointed if you are correct.....We'll see in the next couple of weeks.......Al Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 30, 2012 Super User Posted November 30, 2012 Unfortunately I have better inside sources with TN, than I do my own hogs. I would place a bet it is NOT Gruden. Just saying! Jeff Quote

Jeff The only inside sources I have are at the local jail. I'm just a Vol fan. However, Fisher might be a good fit...........................Al Quote
