Eating Rattlesnake ?

I recently tried rattlesnake for the first time at a friends house and thought it was amazing !

I'm asking if anybody else here has tried it. and what did you think ?

Tried it in the Grand Canyon. It was horribly prepared. I couldn't eat it. I don't think it was really rattlesnake. I think someone cut the toe off the cook's work boot and deep fried it in beer batter.

I have never tried it, but a couple of my friends have. They told me it was delish.

They had some at this fancy banquet at the country club I used to work at but I didn't eat any. My girlfriend tried it and said it was amazing. I did have some of the alligator and ostrich (yes, ostrich) and they were both really good.

I had it in Texas, it was pretty decent but not something I could eat a lot of.

Had it in Phoenix as an appetizer years ago. It had a mild taste, and was pretty good. No, it didn't taste like chicken.

Tried it once at a rattlesnake round-up in Oklahoma. Not great, but not horrible either. Kinda bland, stringy and greasy.

Unless I'm in a survival situation - I'm betting there might be a more palatable choice available.

I am with A-Jay on this one. I MIGHT be able to eat one in a life or death scenario...EEUUUWWW. The thought of it makes me want to ralph.
