BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 26, 2012 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 26, 2012 As soon as we feed the animals, we are out of here. See yall on the water. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 26, 2012 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 26, 2012 We made it. I managed to get a little flipping in before the storm got here. Looks like Taylor and I are going to trailer up to Harney pond in the morning and try punching some of the deeper mats. Hopefully the water temps don't drop to much overnight. Quote
moretolife Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Lee, keep posting how they are biting. Heading down to Big O from NC next Saturday (Jan. 5) for a week. Leave a few big ones for us. Chris Quote
Al Wolbach Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 I'm keeping an eye on this thread also. I have a nephew fishing the college FLW tournament on Okeechobee, I believe it starts on the 9th Jan. Any info you could share that would be helpful is appreciated. Thanks..........................Al Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 28, 2012 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 28, 2012 We started the day with a fresh cold front and mid 40s air temp and mid 60 water. Put in at Harney Pond. Caught up with Rob off on North shore in the topped out hydrilla. Boated a 3 pounder and watched him lose a 6 at the boat. Taylor was a Popsicle by then so we decided on lunch and headed back to clewiston. The spray boats were out between Harney canal and north shore. Met up with Dave P after lunch for a tour of the south end. Boated a few small keepers and watched Dave lose a 9 pounder in the snot. Thanks for the help guys. I learned a little about the lake and got to spend some time with my BR brothers. Quote
piscicidal Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Lee, Glad you were able to hook up with Rob/Dave. I'm no help...I've been on the lake once in the past six weeks and it was two hours on the north side. I'm hoping to get up there this weekend. Quote
salmicropterus Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Good to meet up with you Lee. I have a feeling that the south end is going to bust loose soon. Hope it's when you are on the water! Quote
gar-tracker Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Nice seeing you again Lee. That North Shore area gets a lot of pressure but at times you can find your own little pattern and get a nice sack, like moving off a bit, in, out, etc. When I left you I fished about another hour and went in. That point ( Horse Island) I pointed out had shiner boats lined up every 20 yards, they must be catching them there buts like all information fishing now its getting pounded. I didn't even go out this morning maybe later. Have fun and be safe should get better as it starts warming, like around March Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 So who's fishing lake O' this weekend? I'm thinking tomorrows weather would be better to fish then Sundays weather. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted December 29, 2012 Author BassResource.com Advertiser Posted December 29, 2012 Thanks for all the help guys. I went back out this morning to where Dave lost the big one. Got to fish through once by myself and then I turned around to see about 10 shiner boats lined up behind me. Dave, that area SE of your missed one opens up for about a half mile or more. The water was a little dirty but I would check it again if I were you. That concludes my Big O trip. I had been underwhelmed with Roland's since we pulled in. I guess my expectations were to high. And with yet another front rolling in I decided that was enough. So we packed up around 10:30 and headed to Hendersons on lake Istokpoga. Taylor and I boated 7 chunks over 2 lbs in the first couple of hours. Quote
gar-tracker Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 . I had been underwhelmed with Roland's since we pulled in. I hear you on that. Next time stay up north, more options off and on the Lake. Quote

Roland's is good for a day trip or for a long weekend, but like I said before, you can trailer to different parts of the Lake easier from the North end, especially as fronts pass through. Hope you come back soon, cause the fishiing is about to EXPLODE! Quote
