Scorcher214 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Been thinking about tattoos and well, bass fishing is and always will be my lifelong passion. And if I were to get a tat, it would definitely be a largemouth bass. Does anybody here have a tattoo of one? Or share there insight on having a tattoo. Thinking just on my bicep. Quote

tipptruck1 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Research the tattoo artist or you will star in a show on Spike TV. Well the people on that them shows are dumb. You never tick off your tattoo artist, get free ink, haggle them munch, pay in full before its done, and always look at there work. Most of them people on shows like that on spike. Never followed these rules. I can not help you on the fish ink. But you really have to do your research for tattoo artist. When I moved up here there was two or three tattoo parlors. Only one shop did good work. A few years ago we had about 6-10 up here. Guess what they are gone. You want to be aware of pop up tattoo places like that. They usually are guys that think there tattoo artist. Word of mouth spreads quick. I have seen work from the pop up places up here. Not what I call art. And thanks to seeing a lot of my guys and his bosses work. I can tell what shop did what. Once you find your guy or woman to do your ink. You will not go to any other place. Its like a doctor. The cost is worth it. So do not worry about cost at all. 1 Quote
Super User MCS Posted November 24, 2012 Super User Posted November 24, 2012 A few more Also avoid chains, if they have shops in the mall or ones that don't take appointments lol. My artist said that a respectable rate is 100-200/hr. Find a person that does a 100% custom work and balances what u want with what is technically and artistically correct. My guy moved up to NC and I have moved but we keep in touch. He still has to finish a piece. We found a good one here in Jax that my wife has gotten a piece done. But like said before once u find a good one u will be set and u will keep using them. Quote
I.rar Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 im also interested in seeing some bass tattoos. i have a tribal dragon on the side of my leg that i got for free when the artist was just starting...and you can tell. especially compared to her later work. now i dont regret it but i will not do that again. she did my wifes full color koi fish on her shoulder and it looks awesome. im planning on getting an aries symbol and my daughters birth date soon by the same artist. Super User BASSclary Posted November 24, 2012 Super User Posted November 24, 2012 No bass tattoos but I already got a couple planned for when I turn 18. Im gonna get my dogs footprints on the underside of my arms with their names, And on one on my upper biceps im gonna get a sea turtle with a mirage of the beach in it's shell. I cant think of any bass related tattoos that would look cool that I would like. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted November 25, 2012 Author Posted November 25, 2012 Google "bass tattoo" and look at the image results. Some pretty sweet stuff. Gonna do some artistry when I get off work. See if I can come up with something Quote
