sunkboat on big o Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Wanted to fish carmens tourny last week but woke up late, so just fished for about 6 hours with little to show for it....Went again Sunday outta slims and fished almost all day in and around long point, got more chews but still little quality, would have weighed about 12 pounds. I think they are still on the outter edges but every weekend the wind is blowing like 20mph and just dont wanna deal with it. Ran into mikey ballz at the ramp on sunday and on the lake, he had the same experience, told me took 24 and change to win busters sun but i heard 4th was only around 12 pounds.....dont know about sunday. If anyone has anymore insight would love to hear it. Uncle coming down for thanks giving and wants to fish in the new boat but just thinking of going to the glades with the kinda fish im catching up there. Any suggestions would be greatly app. Quote
topwaterrob Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I've had similar luck, it's been tougher bite on the lake my past two trips.... You aint kidding about that wind though..... Quote
gar-tracker Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Tough time of year, fronts etc.. I don't know what their doing, I'm wondering if their way back. Another big cold spells on its way, that has to bring them in. Iv been struggling as well cant find any big fish. I haven't been going as much with the Thanksgiving coming, but last week i was up the for 3 days and found about 15 lbs a day. I just watched a couple of this dudes videos mikey ballz, he's a trip. Is he on here? Quote
salmicropterus Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Pretty much the same story...had a club T out of Clewiston and one team had 19, everyone else 8 to 12. We caught lots of small keepers but no difference makers. If fish can be puzzled (?) I think the water coming up fast and now going down has them confused. We ought to be in pretty clear cut pre-spawn mode for a good percentage of fish but they are not located or acting that way IMO. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted November 21, 2012 Super User Posted November 21, 2012 Ditto for me fellas! We wished for some higher water boy did we get it! On a side note the DUCK HUNTING IS INCREDIBLE! Quote

Super User South FLA Posted November 21, 2012 Super User Posted November 21, 2012 So your telling me I should bring my shotgun instead of my fishing pole? Actually Dwight, you are my secret weapon, I usually find them right before you come down! Don't forget my DAIWA! Quote

Is he on here? Mikeyballs is on here. I fished with him a little over a month ago on the lake. Watched him punch up a 6+ and a 7+...smooth as silk. Great guy and all around fisherman. His You Tube fishing channel, "MikeyBallzFishing" is sick! I have picked up some great tips from watching his vids. Quote
piscicidal Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 My last trip there with Jack was pretty poor also. Some of the guides seem to think that Sandy ripped up the South end pretty good and will take a little more time to recover. I think when it turns on, it's gonna be lights out for awhile... Quote

piscicidal Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Mikey is a flippin machine. I've been bugging him for awhile (as others have I'm sure) to join this site and he did a couple months ago. He'll add a lot to the site, but he's a real busy guy...doing a three day trip at Kissimmee right now. The hawgs are in trouble... Quote
topwaterrob Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I tried Lox today from 1p to 5. Had very little success, only a few hits on big ez's. I'm guessing the cooler weather gave em lock jaw...... Quote

Shane Procell Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 My last 3 post "Sandy" trips to the Lake were pretty sorry. But the good news is that the glades are on fire! My last two trips in the glades were both 30+ up to 5 1/2 #'s. Quote
piscicidal Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Rob I was at lox the day before. No bites on the Big Ez but I caught a ton on the skinny dipper. I've had to downsize to get bit lately. Check out our blog site. Www.hawgtech.com/blog Quote
Super User South FLA Posted November 25, 2012 Super User Posted November 25, 2012 I was out yesterday fishing some structures that hold some warmth and the bass were aggressively chasing bait-fish, but not my lures! We ended up only catching about 12lbs for a best five, but one was a nice fat 5-2, that hit a lipless cranked through a bait-fish bust. Water temps varied by 4 degrees in certain areas!
