rodnreel11 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Best cold water crankbait for me is a Lucky Craft Flat Mini in Original Tennessee Shad. The signature Skeet Reese series baits are also worth looking at. Quote
topwater.va Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I didn't know crank even EXISTED with lips..... Quote
rodnreel11 Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Hmmm...seems all of our recommendations are missing a prerequisite! :-/ You asked for the best...in your price point I'd say you are doing the best you can with Bandit and Bomber. Try the Bandit Flat Maxx and Bomber Flat A. Traditionally the tighter wobbles of flat cranks work better in cold conditions. Quote
Pitchinkid Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 under $10? Strike King Series 5 Sexy Shad Rapala Flat DT7 Parrot or Olve Green back Quote

Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted March 4, 2010 Super User Posted March 4, 2010 My most productive are: 1-Shad Rap in Silver, Silver/Blue, and Shad. 2-Bandit Flat Maxx in Threadfin. 3-Berkley Frenzy Flicker Shad in Shad, and Silver/Blue. Falcon Quote
RyneB Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 Bomber Model A in bengal firetiger color, or a DT16 in Bluegill color. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted March 6, 2010 Super User Posted March 6, 2010 for me , the best crankbaits for cold water fishing are deep diving crank baits . i like to get down to those suspended fish that are not that active and retrieve them REALLY SLOW with little jerks and speed ups once in awhile to trigger bites from them . i like DD22's , Bomber fat free shads (BD7's) , Spro Little John DD , and strike king series 6"s . all costing well under $10.00 except the Spro at $11.00 .
