Vinny Chase Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Anyone shoot this gun? I can get on in very good condition for $200..All the specs are exactly what I want and it beats the other gun I was considering (Franchi Afiinity) by over $500...Thoughts? Thanks, VC Quote
preach4bass Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I shoot the 3500 (newer version) and love it. I've heard of some cycling problems with the 2000 but each gun is different. I would want to know why the seller is getting rid of it. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted November 18, 2012 Super User Posted November 18, 2012 Light loads are not their friend! As long as you shoot at least 1 1/8 oz shot you should be fine! Keep it clean and in good working condition! Jeff Quote
tritonguy Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 The have a real spotty reputation. The ones I have seen on the range would not feed anything lighter than a 1 1/8 load at 1200 fps. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 The firing pin doesnt hit hard enough on mine. I sent it back to Stoeger to get it repared and it came back and the problem was not resolved. Still clicks about half the time I pull the trigger so now its sitting in the corner and Im back to my Remington and Mossberg Quote
cbass12 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I had some issues early on with the firing pin light striking the primer. I dont think it was an issue with the firing pin so much as it was the bolt not seating properly. It has since been a fairly reliable gun. I have not had a problem with it cycling light loads. I keep it very clean and always run it dry, any bit of oil seems to make it sluggish in cold weather. Quote
jhoffman Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Mine didnt cycle light loads till I pumped about 100 high velocity shells through it and some 3" mags. Beautiful gun Quote
Super User jbsoonerfan Posted December 25, 2012 Super User Posted December 25, 2012 I have killed hundreds of ducks and dove with mine and probably put a thousand rounds through it (guess my % isn't real good, lol) I have only experienced I FTF in all the rounds I have fired. I love mine! I would like to have a Venci, but maybe later. Quote
backcast88 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Get the Franchi. The Stoeger isn't bad but there are way better options and the Affinity is possibly the best option for under $750. The Affinity is basically a rebranded Benelli M1 and is made in the Benellli plant in Urbino. Quote
