(='_'=) Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 hey... my brother wants to get a 2 person kayak.. not for fishing, just recreation... he was looking around and found this kit: http://www.basspro.com/Sea-Eagle-330-Sport-Kayak-Deluxe-Package/product/101215/ what do you think?? it is any good?? it wont be used much, just for a couple local lakes... i wanted him to get a hard kayak so i could use it for fishing, but he drives a small car and needs something he can fit in there, besides he wants a 2-person.... im also open tu suggestions for other brands or models within $300 max.... do you think i should wait for the Black Friday and seee if basspro has any good deals on kayaks?? right now they are including free shipping on orders over $125... Super User Darren. Posted November 14, 2012 Super User Posted November 14, 2012 No experience with an inflatable, though I did look at them. Would probably be a lot of fun. I'd look and see what Black Friday holds, say at Dick's, local shops, etc. DSG's spring sale usually has some aggressively priced yaks for sale. There are inflatable fishing vessels, so not unheard of. Quote

Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted November 14, 2012 Super User Posted November 14, 2012 Here its $220 with electric pump free shipping http://www.overstock...pla&kw={keyword} http://www.seaeagle.com/sportKayaks.aspx some vids on here The hard vs inflate well cant help there thats personal choice. Just google there are better prices than BPS I have a Sea Eagle boat and its worked out very well for me quite pleased with it. The material of mine(38mil) is thicker than the kayak(33mil) one so cant say for sure how it is but mine is fine after three years and many outings. With the sample they sent me I took a lighter and put the flame on it for 10 seconds and it held didnt melt through very surprised tried a key and a pen to poke it while co-worker held it couldnt put a hole in it. (='_'=) Posted November 14, 2012 Author Posted November 14, 2012 thanks for the link and the info!! it even says it can be handled by one person, so maybe i will be able to use it for fishing now and then... Quote
(='_'=) Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 well, i bought it yesterday, it will be my brother´s christmas gift, so i will get it in a month... ill see if it can be used by one person, and hopefully i will be able to fish out of it in the local electric-only lake... Quote
jay-b Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I have the 370 two seater model but its only usually me in it when I fish, my GF gets to impatient to fish haha. Its very slow if your alone and dosnt track to well, but its cheap and convenient since I dont have a truck or roof racks, not to mention its great for people who dont have garages to store a full size hard hule kayak. I would say for the price its good for small lake or a short paddle on a river. I have taken mine for fishing trips up to 3miles and been out on the water up to 6 hours, and it does get uncomfortable. No rod holders but easliy fits my milke crate with rod holders. In all if its for a small lake and not for fishing, its a good buy for the price and convince. But dont be fooled, it is kind of heavy to carry around. The website makes it seem like its easy enough to carry on long hikes, deflated Quote
(='_'=) Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 thank you jay-b.... the kayak is for my brother, who all of a sudden decided he would like one to use on a small lake near our house... last year they allowed bassboats in there, and i used to fish it very often.... its so small, sometimes i didnt even need to turn on the big engine, the trolling motor would be fine... now, they turned it into a public park, and the lake is electric-only.... since then i have been fishing from shore only... so, now my brother has his kayak, i thought i could use it for fishing a couple of times... can you post a pic of the mil crate you mentioned with the rod holders?? thanx!
