I observed some nice schools of bass in the canals along Tamiami Tr. in the Everglades. I wanted to observe them naturally so I put a couple of cameras in the canal and walked away for a half hour. I had seen bass in the tanks at bass pro shops and observed them in the weiva river but catching them schooled around the camera was pretty cool. In this video I saw the Florida Spotted Gar, Talapia, Bluegill, Myan Cyclid, Oscar, Black Bass and a alligator. I believe I spotted a pair of mangrove snapper, which does not surprise me since this is only a few miles from the gulf.

Haha, those curious little guys swam right up to the camera as soon as you put it in! What was there that was keeping this school in that particular area? Nice vid, really interesting to see bass in their natural environment!!

Enough gar you think!

This was on the down current side of a road culvert, so they were hanging out for a meal.

Hey thanx for the vid !!!

I never seen Gar in live action before that was pretty cool !!!

Have you used the camera for other studies? like working a bait and how they react to it?

Cool Video. Did you just shoot video or did you also get to fish a little? The bass numbers in the vid did not look like they were scarce.
