Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted November 11, 2012 Super User Posted November 11, 2012 Went out to my local lake for about 3 hours this morning just before sunrise. Started out on the dam using a black/red worm with no luck. Got snagged and broke off so I tied on a 1/4 ounce white roostertail and went down to the creek below the dam. Caught a brown and a rainbow trout (both personal firsts) and a good size pickerel. Hooked another pick but he threw the hook. Then I ended getting caught in a tree branch over-hanging the creek and got broke off again so I decided to call it quits at that spot and move around the lake to this small bridge. I tied on a KVD squarebill in tennessee shad and finished out the day with 2 largemouth. The smaller one didn't put up any kind of fight at all til he was about 5ft away from me. I thought I was just dragging a clump of weeds. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 11, 2012 Super User Posted November 11, 2012 Fishing both salt and fresh every day, unless I get skunked everyday is a multi species day. Pretty windy today so I opted to skip the ocean and go to the intra-coastal. No bait around but I did land a snook, a small one about 26", then I hit on 3 jack crevelles, 1 small and the other 2 were around 5#. I stop on the way home and still using my 2000 reel and med spin rod and same xrap I catch a couple of bass and peacock. I haven't been out for my PM bass fishing yet but yesterday I had 7 in about an hour and caught snook, jacks and peacocks in the morning. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted November 11, 2012 Super User Posted November 11, 2012 Way to go. A lot of bass fisherman are not anglers. Quote
Super User MCS Posted November 11, 2012 Super User Posted November 11, 2012 Nice fish. I just pulled the old rooster tail out the other day myself. Good fun I might pick up some newer ones. They are good for all species. I was getting a few dinky bass with mine. Hahaha Quote

Today I was targeting brown trout in small streams and we came out with some decent ones... Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 12, 2012 Super User Posted November 12, 2012 I went back to my peacock spot about noon and get several more, this time I had 6/12 clarus and 30 supreme and it was big time fun catching a pea that was only about 3#. I did take a photo but with no lure in it's mouth or anything for size reference it's pointless to post it. Quote
Super User Tuckahoe Joe Posted November 12, 2012 Author Super User Posted November 12, 2012 Im used to catching pickerel when Im fishing. It was the trout that really made my day being that they were my first. Thinking I might switch over to trout for the colder months once the bass slow down and stop hitting my cranks. I don't think I have the patience for super slow winter worm fishing. Quote
