Hey everyone, new guy to fishing here. Been reading the site for a while now while I was fishing with my buddies stuff. I finally got my own first setup and got it for finesse soft plastics. Seems to be my favorite so far.

Picked up a Quantum Smoke spinner and 6'6" M Smoke rod plus a BPS tackle backpack and boxes and an assortment of hooks/soft plastics. Got some for flick shake and wacky rig.

Goin fishing this morning and I can't wait.

Welcome South-Sider! There are a lot of great freshwater fisheries down there so I've been told.

Welcome to the Forum.

We have many Virginia guys and gals on the site so ask your questions and we will do our best to give you our input.

Please consider joining a local bass club in the Tidewater area. You will learn a lot and get to fish the local waters plus meet the guys who share your interest in fishing.

Go to LINKS at the top of this page and look for BASS FISHING CLUBS.

Then go to VIRGINIA and scroll down to the bottom of the page for the two federations. Check out both and try to find a club that will take a nonboater.

Good luck and have fun fishing.
