Pucker Moments

So after reading A-Jays thread bout them tubes it reminded me of an incident we had this week while out at a range here.

Those of you who were or are military and have been to Iraq and Kuwait probably know or have been to the Udari range. Now those of you who dont know but this ranges is a walking distance away from Iraq the dune directly behind our targets we could stand on and see into Iraq.

Now we were warned to keep an eye out for UXO's(Un eXploded Ordnance) just in case. So were going threw our training doing my favorite battle drill 6 Alpha which is room clearing we were also doing react to contact and movement to contact(same thing pretty much). Nothing to exciting or different from any other time other then its sandy and windy as all hell.

Well then nature calls from drinking so much water to stay hydrated out there so we break to go take a leak in the designated pee point. So there we are 3 of us standing junk in the wind when the guy to my right asks me what some thing is. I'm thinking hes playing a joke and i keep my eyes forward and crack a joke at him bout a wart lol. Then he said no seriously to look where we just pee'd. There were some metal fins sticking up out of the ground uncovered from ya know. So right there were all kinda got that butt pucker moment and reaction. We called the range safety over and he said it was some sort of UXO and we blocked the area off and called EOD.

EOD finally showed up after about 30 minutes walks up to it no suit on nothing just a pair of gloves and kicks the thing! he kicks this thing out of the sand and picks it up turns around to show us its a AT4 round(US rocket launcher) so were all standing in the distance waiting to see the pink mist from this tard kicking a missile that failed to go boom and that we were just peeing on.

The guy walks out a little ways sets it down places a charge on it comes back to us and blows the thing. That part was cool but watching him kick it and us finding it with our pee stream def made us at least me pucker just a bit lol. That was all we found UXO wise the rest was just scorpions and sand vipers hiding under our gear where it was cool.

As a medic I had my fair share of negative results with things that go boom. The sad thing is that all of them were during training exercises.
