trailer hook...what size...or do you use one??

what size trailer hook do you use on spinnerbaits?

buzzbaits?

or do you use them?

i've got some 1/0's and not sure if i should upsize to 3/0

I use 3/0.  The bigger the hook the easier to hook the fish.

I'm using 2/0. Seem to be doing the job for me.

I use 2/0, which is an arbitrary choice, but it seems "right" for me. My spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and Chatterbait-style lures all have trailer hooks on them.

The majority of fish on these lures have the main hook in them, but there are just enough on the trailer hook only that I don't want to fish without them.

2/0 Gamakatsu spinnerbait trailer hooks for me. Like Marty said, most of my spinnerbait bass come on the main hook but I've had enough on the trailer (even a few better ones) that I won't fish without them!

Not sure of the size.  Several years back I bought a bag of trotline hooks.  They size is right and the eye is big enough to go over the barb of any spinnerbait/buzzbait hook.  MUCH cheaper than the hooks sold as trailer hooks.

Xs 2 but I sharpen them often.
