Super User roadwarrior Posted November 13, 2012 Super User Posted November 13, 2012 Cosmic Spinnerbait from Siebert Outdoors: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/index.php/cosmic-spinnerbait I have ordered custom builds with 1) twin silver willow blades and 2) silver on top/ gold on the bottom. Regardless of the brand you chose, I suggest replacig the skirt with LumaFlex: http://store.jobabylures.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=J&Category_Code=SKL 1 Quote
Kcoyote11 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 I love the spinnerbait bite. I have use most all of them and was a big terminator guy. Caught a lot of fish on them but the price kept increasing. So I went to Booyah. It catches as many fish as any other spinnerbait I have fished and the price is reasonable. I perfer the 1/4oz chartruese/white most of the time. In clear water or mid summer I will go to the white 1/4oz. Gold willow and chrome colorado blade. Quote
detroit1 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I love spinnerbaits. Bass and pike love them too. For the last dozen years or so i assemble my own. My favorite is a 1/4 oz. head/frame with a 1/4 oz. rubbercore sinker mashed on the hook after some variation of white skirt was put on. A size 3.5 and 4.0 gold willows and sampo swivel, and a trailer hook, and just add water. I prefer the head not to be painted.... Quote
Fontana Finesse Man Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Tru Trac Custom and Fat Ratz Custom. Blue Glimmer and Firecracker are the two colors I love. I also use some hawg caller multi blade spinnerbaits on occasion. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted November 18, 2012 Super User Posted November 18, 2012 I catch the same number of fish with any brand, I buy the one's for a buck, I've got more of them and a variety of colors. They won't last as long, but I can buy as many as I want. Quote

Don't use spinnerbaits too much here in soCal...but when i visit my friend on the Coosa in Alabama...i use them alot.....i had more success on the $1.00 wal-mart spinners than my $5.00 plus ones i had brought with me. How do you lose spinnerbaits? Quote
1234567 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Which spiinnerbait on the market would take the abuse fish after fish, Terminator T2's??? I've been using revenge and so far so good but have not caught multiple fish on one single one yet. Quote
tugsandpulls Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 i shore fish so i loose some in the trees and some on logs some in weeds some making crazy cast some to pike some on docks Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 19, 2012 Super User Posted November 19, 2012 Me too, but I usually free them walking down below the hang. Quote
tugsandpulls Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 so you dont loose any??? the places i throw im sure you would Quote
cbreeze22 Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I use the $ 1.25 s/baits fishing for pike from the shore. Usually loose 4 or 5 a day throwing into weeds/rocks. I like to bump them slowly on the bottom. I free a heck of a lot of them walking from left or right down shore but some flat don't come loose. Will use some of my medium priced spinnerbaits when fishing in the boat. Quote
bass1980 Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 My go to spinner bait is a KVD white bleeding one, has some red splash in the color. What I do is I add a white fluke as a trailer. My buddies wasn't laughing for long after that setup caught many bass. The only problem is that Northerns seems to like it more than bass lol. Quote
Diggy Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I like whats on clearance (usually strike king premium or burners) or walmart 1.00 spinner baits because they are cheap and work well Quote
mattk22 Posted November 23, 2012 Author Posted November 23, 2012 I just bought a bunch from Northstar, so we will see how they compare to my Strike King, Terminators, and Booyah's. Quote
Scorcher214 Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 To anybody wondering if the ko man chi spinnerbaits are worth it? Yes yes they are. The maker of them contacted me and had some that were not painted and were an earlier model. Sold several of them to me for 7 bucks each. WELL WORTH IT. With the pike population in st clair, they jack my spinnerbaits up, always mangling them, then I gotta spend a minute re tuning them. They don't turn over at all, and they last. For somebody like me, where the spinnerbait is their favorite lure. I highly recommend buying at least one and trying it out. Other than those, always safe to go with strike king. Quote
bronzebackhuntr Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I'm a big fan of Hoppys and Hawg Callers for regular spinnerbaits. For a night time blade I like some that are made here locally in southwest va by Neal's custom lures. Quote
Diggy Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I had a bass break my strike king burner right off today. I will probably refrain from buying those again unless on clearance. I got the blades back and a piece of the wire where the knot was. I guess walmart will remain the king of the cheapies for me Either way I must fish spinner baits longer than I usually do. I caught a total of 20 fish on them walking the neighborhood lake. Quote

Blair Bassin' Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Molix, their spinnerbaits have a different side to side action and wobble, that I have confidence in. My favorite color is the ayu Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted November 26, 2012 Super User Posted November 26, 2012 Just received these from Siebert Outdoors: Cosmic Spinnerbait: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/index.php/cosmic-spinnerbait Quote
Jake P Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Email Strike King and they will take care of you. I had 2 red eye shad that were split down the middle and they hooked me up big time. his problem was not a manufacturer defect. Strike king can't control what a fish does to a lure in the water. If anything it should show that the bait performed up to par since the fish decided to destroy it lol. They really do take care of real problems though. Sent them back 2 defective squarebills and they hooked me up with 5! Quote
