What is your favorite spinnerbait and why? Also, what colors do you prefer to use? I have just gotten into using spinnerbaits more and have been hunting for a quality spinnerbait.

I was looking at Ko-Man-Chi, Terminator, Northstar, Strike King, or RMC. The RMC and Ko-Man-Chi are pretty expensive, the Northstar looks really nice. I like some of the Strike King Pro series ones too. There are so many out there to choose from, any opinions are great.

I like Strike King.........big suprise, lol. Specificly, the tour grade painted blade, and KVD's that are BPS exclusive.

I'm a big spinnerbait fisherman myself, so I have used a lot of brands. Strike King, Booyah (Pond Magic), NorthStars, and I think the other brand is the MegaStrike spinnerbaits. I have to many to name haha. I like Chartruesse, White Chartruesse, Black and Red, black and Blue just to name a few colors.

Hope this helps!

Without a doubt my favorite is the Pro Clacker II (pic attached), I also use Booyah, and Strike King. Color depends on forage and water clarity and also how much sunlight or if its at night, black /blue, Chartruese and white, white and blue, white, chartruse, sometimes no skirt at all but will put on a Zoom Swimming Fluke

War Eagle and War Eagle Finesse. Either in mouse or spot remover colors. If I'm fishing dingy water I like a white or chartruese and white Booyah.

I fish exclusively Northstar spinnerbaits for a few reasons, anymore. They're durable, they're weighted right, and they have superior components to almost all others on the market currently. Lastly, they flat catch fish. When it comes to balance on a spinnerbait, it's everything; Northstars are balanced perfectly for a vertical fall or for a glide on a slow drop. They also don't tip the hook one direction or the other when you're walking them up or down structure. They're superb for fishing drops and ledges, as well as having flexible and sturdy enough wire to fish them in heavy wood and grass.

As far as colors go, the vast majority of my spinnerbait fishing is a 3/4 ounce Willow/willow Gold/gold in New Gill or Bull Gill. Those two colors account for probably 85% of my spinnerbait fish, and have won some substantial team and solo tournaments. On lakes like Table Rock and Bull Shoals, I've done extremely well on a 1/4 and half ounce bait in Smokey purple shad, but those are very specific instances, in which I am presenting them in very specific methods.

I like the booyah spinnerbaits in the 3/4 ounce size. I usually get them at cabelas and they are 4.99, making them the least expensive I have found. I then change up the blades at my discretion.

I also use the strike king KVD painted blade models.

Forgot to add...strikezone master blaster hidden weight spinnerbaits...very nice with double willow blades that are hammered with edges scalloped?

I have never had a spinnerbait that stood out above the rest. I have had some that were not very good. I like my spinnerbaits compact. A lot of them have wire arms that are too long , like the 3 packs at WalMart. A local Store sells some good baits with ball bearing swivels, quality skirt, good paint jobs on the head for a dollar fifty. They work real well. The Strike King Spin Dance is a good lure.

I think my favorite right now is the war eagle. They cast really well, have good hooks/components, and the finish is reasonably durable.

I have many different brands and frankly they all catch fish. For me, castability is what differentiates what gets used and what doesnt. I hate spinnerbaits that helicopter on the cast. This is a technique that usually requires accuracy. That war eagle casts like a bullet, right on target.

To be fair, I haven't tried all the spinnerbaits out there. My opinion today is subject to change.

War Eagle makes a great SB, and I like Northstar also because you can build your own bait (choose blades, weight, color). I would like to see Northstar add paineted blades as an option (hint, hint). :wink2:

NorthStar spinnerbaits IMO are the best on the market because of the durability, color selection, and innovation. The hidden weight gives you a smaller head profile which helps the spinnerbait come through cover better than other options.

NorthStar also has a triple blade spinnerbait that you can find on TW that gives the bass a very unique look; the blades counter-rotate when you kill the bait and that creates some aggressive strikes!

I like the Northstar hidden heads. Quality product at a fair price. And I caught my pb largemouth on one. I like white on white blades. White/chartreuse on silver & gold blades.

I use mostly SK brand. I really like the razor series. I also have some terminator that have been successful for me in the past. The one ko-man-chi spinnerbait I have is very well constructed with quality components but I haven't given it the water time it deserves.

I love terminator spinnerbaits although they are a bit pricey. I have also tore them up on the cheap $1 spinnerbaits your can buy at the store that dont even come in a package.

I bought some small Terminators two years ago and they were the worse spinnerbaits I ever had. They would not run upright. They would actually spin around. The blades were to heavy for the head.Other Terminators I use work perfectly. I robbed them of their components and threw the bodies away.

War eagle first and foremost ( also their customer service is outstanding). After that would be terminator and strike king

I use the BPS spinnerbaits. White / Chart, or just plain white are the two best colors around here.

I was a Booyah guy until I picked up a War Eagle by suggestion from my local tackle shop. I'm all over their copper colors at the moment with the bubblegum colored skirt bringing me the best results to date. I also have done well with the Terminator T1 line in bluegill and perch pattern.

Strike King and BPS always worked well for me.

Wow can't wait to try the Northstar spinnerbait.. never even heard of it before.. sounds good...

I hate to say it but chatterbait is awful good... the reason I say it is the tear up easy and you miss a ton of strikes, if you don't put on a trailer hook.... chart white is a great color.... in the 1/4 oz. size...

Check the ads at BPS all the time.. I remember I think it was last year they had the terminators one day for $2 apiece and they are a fantastic spinnerbait...

An older spinnerbait at BPS, which is pricey is the Tornado.... it flat out catches fish... I'm an econo spender on lures and if I'll pay 5.99 or 6.99 for one it's great.... I like CHart. pepper color in 3/8 oz.

My friend is sold on War eagle, although I've never tried one... He's caught a ton of fish on them... good luck.
