When and how do you guys prefer to use them?

I've always been a worm and craw kinda guy, just now branching into creature baits. Was at dicks and saw these in a green pumpkin blue flash and liked what I saw. Thanks for any help!

I like to fish texas rigged lizards in the heads of creeks during the spring and summer. Our lake levels fluctuate alot here and the debris will pile up in small creeks along the main channel and I love to flip them in the holes of the debris around these types of creeks.

Also fish them on a carolina rig some when I fish one.

Weightless. Slowly drag them around the weeds and let them sink all slow and seductive like I have fished them every way you can imagine and still caught bass, but weightless is their strong suit.

BTW pumpkin seed/chartreuse and Watermelon are my favorites.

I have caught a ton of fish with them, guess I started fishing them about 15 years ago. spring and summer mainly. junbug , watermelon and pumpkin in natural lakes ,Chartreuse and pepper in phosphate pits or lime rock bottom pits..1/8oz weight and 4/0 EWG.

I texas rig them with a 1/32oz weight, and swim them, or pop them along the bottom.

I Texas and Carolina rig them . Lizards are great. In the late 80s I pocketed about five thousand dollars in small time, local tournaments, using texas rigged lizards deep on points. I always felt they caught quanity and quality of fish.

Lizards, along with worms, have been the top producing plastics of all time. Some people think their time has passed, but there are a few ways to fish them that are dynomite for me - topwater in pads and on a carolina rig.

I have an 8" zoom lizzard texas rigged on my plastics rod 2/3 of the time. I usually fish them weightless and they are good producers.

Sound like they can be used anytime. What is some of the more popular colors, that is always a weak point of mine, there are so many. Should I choose them to what works for worms in my area like blk w/ blue flk, junebug, red shad? or go something more natural?

I haven't used the Rage Lizard enough yet to say that but I'm really impressed with it from what little I've used it so far. I've caught tons of bass on Zoom lizards but the Rage Lizard is nice.

I thought about trying the Rage lizard, but in their video I did not see any difference in the action of theirs and the zoom lizards I get for half the price, If I like my Elimanator, Anaconda, Lobster, Frog and Spacemonkey more then my other soft plastics I will give them a try too I guess.

They work well anytime of year, but drag them through a bed during the spawn, and hold on tight.....

Got a pack of watermelon(only color they had) at Walmart lastnight. Got one on it, fishing was slow today all around fog came in. Hope to get some other colors shortly. Can't wait to fish the spot I have in mind for these.

Lizards have been around about as long as soft plastic worms and I consider a lizard as a creature bait and can be fished anytime a creature works. The classic lizard bite is during pre spawn to spawn because bass at the time target egg eaters like salamanders. During the spawn color doesn't make any difference, it's purely kill the egg eater. Lizards are also a good night soft plastic, they move more water than a standard worm and have a profile that appeals to bass. T-rig and C-rigs both work with lizards.

here in the ozarks area, the lizard c-rigged after the spawn is proven bass catcher over the years. i often use what many of my friends have named a missouri rig. it is something that i came up with many years ago. i use a three way swivel. on the short drop, i use on of my jigs. it can be dressed as a traditional jig, or use the bare head with a lizard. on the long lead, use a lizrd or bait of choice. you are giving the bass a look at two baits. plus, with the missouri rig, you are in direct contact with both lures at all times. you will have much better hook up ratios also.

I use a lot the zoom lizards, mostly 6" in any wms, shapes my favorite is watermelon red chartreuse, if I fish in new place is my to go bait, in Texas rig, from 1/8, to 1/2 lead bullet weight. Depending on wind, deep and cover.

I don't know why, most people uses only in the spawn season , those things are really effective all year round, the spawn season the only difference is that, you can use any color, particularly the red and pink, colors, like pumpkin fire, cherry seed, chameleon, tomatoe seed, etc.

This lure is very effective on Carolina Rig, it seems me that the lizards are made for this rig, which size ? All of them are effective I don't like 4" are too tiny, if I need to go finesse I use 5" with 1/0 owner "j" hook, and for 6" I use from 2/0 to 4/0 in Mustad 37177 or Grammy Ewg, preferably 3/0. For 8" I use 4/0 maybe 5/0 in the same brands and models of hooks.

Some times side rigging the lizards improve the bite ratio, it means, if you exit the point of the hook, by "ribs" instead the back.

I like to texas rig them, use any ball jighead, and sometimes during spawn just throw them weightless....

I actually had the most success on Zoom watermelon gold flake lizards (5+") rigging them wacky!

A wacky rigged lizzie is not something often seen and I caught a 6+ and one I estimated between 7&8 (jumped and spit hook just out of reach of net) within 30 minutes of each other.

Rigged 'em that way on a whim one day when I said "why not wacky?!"

Let me clarify, I had the most success with this method in PRE-spawn and during the spawn.
