So as I've continued to buy more and more stuff (darn monkey), I'm starting to realize that space is at a premium.  I'm looking for more of a co-angler type of bag, as I hope to back-seat in a few tournies this year.  I picked up a BPS 360 backpack earlier today, but I'm really not that happy with it.  That being said, I may have not given it a fair chance.  Do you guys think it would be smarter to buy something like the BPS co-angler bag with the 3700 series boxes?  Or stick to something that holds the 3600 series.  I bought the backpack because I do a lot of bank beating, so I'm not really sure if I like or don't like it yet.

I'm in the same boat you're in my friend. i bought the Browning 360 backback for hitting the banks. Truthfully, I love it. However, it is at its capacity, and  "need" more things. So then I picked up one of these,

They went on sale for $20 around christmas, and I now when I know I will be out most of the day I can carry both, or shove everything into the cabelas.

If you're going to be on the back of the boat, it may not be a bad idea to buy another one. However, I don't advise taking the two and walking down steep embankments. Good luck on your tackle quest. Its not easy

What is it you don't like about the backpack bag? Just curious because my eye lingers on it every time I'm flipping thought the catalog. I just looks like a cool bag.

You know, I'm not really sure what it is.  I'm probably just nitpicking over the fact that I spent 30 bucks on it when I probably didn't really need to.  At least it was on sale.

Buy the Cabela's Advanced Anglers series if you want a quality bag.  Otherwise, the BPS will be fine.

Do you put plastics in that bag, and if so, where?

Thanks,

Broc

I have one of those Cabela's bags and I like it very much. However, I'd have been willing to buy any brand. The most important consideration is how closely the bag matches my needs. If it doesn't match my needs, then the highest quality bag on the market isn't of much use to me.

I picked up a gym type bag at Big Lots a couple months back for about $5 and I'm really happy with it, the main compartment could easily hold 8-10 of the 360 boxes and it has two small compartments on the ends, I put my tools like pliers, scissors, scale, in one and scents, dyes in the other. It also has a large compartment on the front that will hold a lot of soft plastics bags.

I use these from Bass Pro

I have yet to have a boater complain, they actually compliment how organized I am.

I use the BackPack one more because i bank fish a lot more on small ponds.

This will everything you need. It holds 8 3600 boxes, but I always narrow it down to 4 and I can but my lunch and rain gear on the other side of it. It holds water and all the accessories you need. It even has a rainfly.

I grabbed one of the XPS Stalker Backpacks.  I'm much happier with that.  My only complaint is that the shoulder straps don't give for a lot of adjustment, and it's off center when using them as a handle.  But thats just being trivial.  Otherwise I couldn't be happier with it.

I've made my own for years by purchasing gym bags. Found out a while back that many of the zipper pockets on these bags are exactly sized to hold 3600 boxes, some are for smaller boxes as well, some even for the 3700 size. It's like they measured for it when they fitted them.

The one I have now holds quite a few of the 3700 sized boxes (3701's are thinner, more adjustable with smaller available spaces internally, and are awesome for crankbaits, no wasted space, each in it's own spot, get more boxes in the bag this way too). I also have 1 of the 3600s in it's own zipper pocket on the front outside the main bag. The two vertical pockets, one on each end, would also each hold a 3600 as well but I use these spaces to put soft plastics in their own pouches in. Holds a good dozen or more bags per side so I have nearly 30 types of worms, lizards, and craws with me at any one given time. The main compartment of the bag is so stuffed with boxes that the last space at the top is not usable to insert just one more box due to the fact that the box is wider than the opening and needs to be inserted and manuvered to lay flat (I don't stand them up, too much tangling of hooks that way). So to overcome this, I just put three 3500s side by side, one in at a time and filled it to full capacity this way since I can put smaller ones in and slide them back under the fabric and then pop the last one in right in the middle. Zipped up there is absolutely zero room for any movement of boxes to shuffle around. 3500s work well to hold hooks and sinkers, swivels, things like this where if you spill them you don't spill a lot since the box is too small to hold much. This system could not be more perfect.

When I beat the bank, I have a shoulder strap for carrying this rig. When I go on the boat it is perfect to carry everything compactly but easily reachable. Other things it has are places outside to strap a 20 oz. drink bottle to, or cell phone pocket, stuff like that. I paid $20 for it total, but I already had the boxes. They don't cost much to purchase one at a time when needed and I've had them for years so when the bag wears out, another $20 and I'm good for a few more years.
