NEjitterbugger Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 My friend and I are going to my grandfather's house in CT in 2 weeks and we will be targeting trout and salmon. The salmon will be targeted from a pond that is stocked with them (caught a 6 pound salmon with a spoon last time)... The trout will be mostly fished from rivers and or streams... I want to learn how to fly fish but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on some trout/salmon lures that you guys beleive are rather successful. Thanks Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted November 1, 2012 Super User Posted November 1, 2012 Spoons, inline spinners, smaller flatfish or luhr jensen kwik fish, rattlebaits & jerkbaits. Good luck. 2 Quote
CoBass Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Spoons, inline spinners, smaller flatfish or luhr jensen kwik fish, rattlebaits & jerkbaits. Good luck. What he said. Also, just because you don't currently know how to use a fly rod doesn't mean you can't use flies. A fly and bubble on spinning gear is a great way to catch trout. Find out which flies the locals are having success with and tie one on behind a casting bubble. This time of year when the water is getting colder, nymph patterns are very productive around here and they are very easy to use under a casting bubble. 1 Quote

alexczarn Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Rapala. X-Raps, original floaters or CD's. Celta spinners too. Quote
