You'd think that robbing a house occupied by only a 12- year- old girl would be a relatively easy task... and you'd be wrong. In Oklahoma, a guy kicked in the back door of her house, made his way through the home and entered the room where she was hiding in a closet. As soon as he put his hand on the doorknob, the girl fired the family shotgun through the door. Let's just say that at that point, the robbery attempt came to an abrupt end.

And a recent survey was conducted to find out at what age people believe they started making "grown up" decisions. The average age was 28. In addition to the survey, they included a list of 9 signs that you are officially grown up. Truth is, if you live long enough, you're gonna 'grow up', as they say, but that doesn't mean you're not an immature idiot. Most people are a (un) healthy combination of both. Heck, I'm saving for my retirement and paying off my debts, but then, I still think farts are hilarious. Just how it is.

Today's question: WHAT ABOUT YOU IS 'ALL GROWN UP NOW', AND HOW ARE YOU STILL A CHILD?

Well, I got my own bills now. Rent, cable, cell phone, gas/electric, car insurance, and bill collectors calling me about unpaid medical bills due to lack of health insurance. Not to mention groceries and gas for my car that always breaks down. Working 40 hours a week and looking for a second job just so I can get by while still trying to make time to fish. Also, if arressted, I can be (and have been) tried as an adult. I suppose in that sense, Im all grown up. But I still like screwing around on the internet or playing my xbox and talking some trash on 'Call of Duty'. Helps me forget about all the grown up crap for a while.

Finacially grown-up, house paid for vehicles paid for no credit dept at all, making sure kids get very good education.

Child in the toys I have- radio control vehicles, video games, mtn bike, collect sport figures. Im at Toysrus 2 times a week about, toy aisle at Walmart 2-3 times a week, Target looking for my toys. I get my kids toys (HALO figures, legos, megabloks, thomas the tank engine) all the time up to where my wife gets upset for all the toys I buy them but they enjoy it. Wife gives me a grocery list and at bottom writes NO TOYS. I do the pull my finger too with the kids.

That story has to bring a smile to your face, good for her knowing what to do and for her parents that surely showed her how to use the gun if she had to in such an emergency.

If bills and working 40 hours a week make you an adult I've been an adult since I was 13 or 14. Get me with the right friends and I'm about as mature as a middle school boy. I still think farts are funny so I can't be that grown up can I? :laugh5:

Realizing the appreciation of the journey of life is far more rewarding than any of the monetary goals attained.

I have a wife, two daughters, house, and a pretty good job. When I take my kids to the park I still like to climb on the jungle gym, and go down the slides.

I am a kid when goofing around with my kids, yet, at the same time, I am very aware that they watch my every move and look to me as an example of how they should conduct themselves, how they should treat other people. So, I can be both childlike and yet grown up at nearly the same time.

How many times have you heard the old saying..."The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys."..the older I get the more true that seems.

Some of us have been forced to grow up early on in life, case-in-point, this little girl, that decision was an adult decision, or at least one that should have been made by an adult, a tough decision to have been made but one that was necessary, I too think her parents had done the right thing and I support her decision to use a firearm to protect herself.

Some of us have had it rougher than others, loosing our parents early in life and having to support others at a very young age, some of us have had a great childhood, but none of us who like to have fun ever forget that feeling of joy that we get when we make others smile or laugh.

Making an adult decision has nothing to do with age, but it seems that making a childish decision does.

Personally, I do not think we ever fully mentally "grow up", just physically, we live the best we can and we continue living through our children and grandchildren, it's fun and invigorating, so why should we?, even though our bodies can no longer keep up as once before, we still try to have as much fun connecting though them as we did when we were younger.

To me being an adult is when you start to teach others of life and the responsibilities they have for knowing the difference between right and wrong.

I will never stop being a child inside, I still like having wwwwaaayyyyyyy too much fun !!!!!!

I'd say I'm still a kid in pretty much every aspect of the word. Yes I go to college, yes i do support myself finanically etc, etc. But I make my money by playing semi-professional soccer and barely scrape by. I go to classes 4 out of 5 days of the week and tend to go fishing at least 3 times during any given week. I've been saving to buy a new set-up for quite some time now. I have adult-like responsibilities, but I pretty much live my life like a kid. Making bad decisions and just doing what I generally want to do.
