P-Line C21 Anybody?

I know there was some talk on here when the line first came out, but nothing as of late.

Anyways, my Dick's had spools on sale for like 2 bucks and change, so I picked up some 6# for small jerkbaits, topwaters, and maybe some light plastics.

Just from playing with it I got the impression of very little memory, and it feels like silk!

But has anybody used it, and can account for any strength or problems? So far I have high hope considering I haven't ever been a P-line fan after trying CXX numerous times (hated it), and their pure fluorocarbon (average at best).

I understand that it has a tendency to kink and knot. I fish P-line exclusively but I use the Flurocear green tint and their CXX for top water baits. It's really a tough line with great strength

My wife and I use 6lb C21 for all ultralight fishing. Yet to have a problem with it for any use. When it went on sale at dicks it was like winning the lotto

I mainly use 6, 12, and 15lb

There was a thread a couple of weeks ago on this subject and if you're interested I can post the link on here. Anyway, I used it this year for the first time and really liked it. Like you said, it's really slick and not a lot of memory to it. I picked up a couple of spools a couple of weekd ago for the same price you paid, In my opinion you can't beat that for the price. I think you'll be satisfied with it.

Is this mono or fluoro line ?

It's a copolymer, which is closer to a monofilament

Gotcha. How does this compare with Yo Zuri hybrid?

Ive never tried Yo Zuri so I couldn't compare. I am satisfied with the C21 to not need to shop around for something else, especially when C21 is around $5 vs Yo which is closer to $10

I've given up on C21 for a variety if reasons. Initially I was very impressed with the qualities. After a period of time, however, it fell off my list quite quickly. The memory jumps dramatically after you use the Lu e for a week or so. It necessitates a change of line nearly weekly if you fish much. The fact that it picks up water is something I don't like either. It's almost as though the line swells with use, and the stretch is terrible. I was fishing it for jerkbaits when the Lu e first hit shelves this year, and it's very good for that purpose. For most other techniques though, it lacks quite a lot. The abrasion resistance is very poor in warm water, for some reason it seems like the line gets much, much softer it warm weather. Cheap line, you get what you pay for in this instance. Which is a bit of a bummer, because initially I was very excited about the opportunities it was going to present for a multi-purpose line.

I like the stuff for moving baits but it has too much stretch to get a good hookset with feel baits unless you go to a very heavy weight. I didn't have much problems with memory, even when I went up to 25lb test for flipping very heavy trees. It had great abrasion resistance, I managed to pull up a whole tree along with the 5.5lb fish that wrapped me up in it, and that was after playing tug-o-war back and forth through the tree for quite awhile. It's pretty tough to beat for the price IMO.
