Don't have a spinning rod, but I bought a champion casting rod a few weeks ago and I love it. Extremely light and sensitive. Probably get another before next season. Already own 4 of the savvy series rods. Dobyns all the way. And, no, I am not going to try to sell everybody on Dobyns. They sell themselves just fine. Wait till you try yours and you will know what I am talking about.

I've got 5 dobyns rods, 2 champ extremes, 2 champs, and a savvy. (3 spinning and 2 BC)

That being said, I can try to describe the blank and feel of the 763 for you. Ive got a champ 703SF (similar blank, slightly shorter), it is my absolute favorite rod, simply awesome for fishing tubes/finesse jigs less than 7/16oz. It's the rod in my avatar.

The 3 power blank is super sensetive, and also very light as Hootie mentioned too. Balanced perfect with a sustain 2500...for me anyways.

Also works very well throwing lighter jerkbaits and cranks. In my opinion, the rod, (703 and 763 SF) are more or less a combination of ML and medium, its got some give to it...depending on what you plan on using it for, this can be good or bad.

I think you'll enjoy it!

i have the 682 that i use for dropshots, senkos and shakey heads. Absolutely love this rod, have it paired with a daiwa fuego 1000a, its such a light combo.

Ok. Got the rod and took it for a test drive today. I really like this rod a lot so far. It's very light, sensitive, and very well made. I also like the Kigan 3d guides. It definitely doesn't have the power of my St Croix Avid medium rod....it's almost in between a medium and a medium light when compared to a St Croix. Maybe it's because of the length of this rod (7'6") but it still has a decent enough backbone behind it and the leverage to get a good hookset with a t-rig. I almost don't know what to do with this rod because it doesn't seem as technique specific as some other rods (even though it says so)....but at the same time I feel it would be really good at many different things. So far, so good!

being a 3 power rod you can do a bunch ............tubes, 1./4 oz trigs, rage rig, shakey head.... you name it

my 733c champ is my spinnerbait rod

my 743dx c is my rage craw rod, tubes , anything 1/4 oz + plastic

now my 742dx sf is a fantastic drop shot and the perfect shakeyhead rod........ but since you have to SF instead of cast I would say you could shakey and drop shot the your rod as well.

enjoy your new rod.
