Tokyo Tony Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Last year I was drunk at the bar and saw the infomercial for the high-def sunglasses. I immediately bought them on my phone. $35+ dollars for the worst sunglasses of all time. When I got them in the mail I had forgotten I ordered them and had to think hard about when I did it. Worst money I've spent was $100's per month on booze, for years and years. That's part of the reason I recently quit drinking for good. The other reason is that it was rotting my brain. I used to be smarter than I am now. Also in college spent $700+ to get the ball rolling with one of those scam invention companies on an idea I had. They sent me their market research with similar patents, etc., and said they're excited to move forward...for the low price of $10,000.00. Fortunately, I didn't have the money to waste, but that $700 didnt' do *****. So much more....oh a bunch of bodybuilding supplements which didn't do anything...got screwed on my last car purchase, after the fact. The money I don't regret spending is on vacations and other activities that have filled my brain with fond memories, even with ex-girlfriends I no longer talk to and wish never to see again. Oh, also the electronic cigarette has saved me so much money on cigarettes it's ridiculous. PM me if you want information on it. I'm actually in the process of writing an ebook about it. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted October 26, 2012 Super User Posted October 26, 2012 I view financial miscues the same way I look at (and hope to Learn from) all of forks in the road of my life. And I try not to repeat them. Several years back I purchased a Power Tech Home Gym. By committing to invest in me, I was able to improve several aspects of my life in a positive way. I highly recommend it. A-Jay Quote

shootermcbob Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Best Investment...wife, kids, Time spent with them and the ability to live within our means. Really helped when I lost my job and went back to school. Worst investment....my first vehicle...too say they saw me coming would be an understatement. Luckily, it was a Ford F-150 and I drove it for about 220,000 thousand miles before a head on collision with a 108 foot steel I-beam trailor...(in dark. completely across roadway), then father-in-law purchased from insurance company, fixed necessary items, and drove it for about 80,000 miles more. As a side note, one of my best friends in Arizona, who I met after buying the Ford, really taught me a lot about buying cars. He has saved me thousands of dollars since the. So maybe, the Ford wasn't that bad of an investment after all? Quote
