I only use spinning gear. In the past year ive bought two baitcasters, a curado and lews tourney pro and can say i got proficient with both. Just wasnt for me. Theres no difference in accuracy with a bc or spinning rod, like others have said its just practice in general.

Ive been the most confident in my fishing now more than ever with spinning reels and braid.

Casting aside, what about fighting a fish. Baitcasters are mechanically superior they say, more power or torque. But what about the way you hold the reel. The biggest fish I've caught were on spinning gear, the rods butt under my forearm, the rod melded like an extension of my arm. With a casting reel you either fight the fish with your hand still palming the reel or have to change your grip to the foregrip (something rods no longer have) or to the trigger. Neither way would I have had the comfort or power to fight really big fish like I do with a spinning reel.

Personnal preference. I love the feel of the baitcaster, and how it handles. As far as accuracy, thats a variable that dwells in the user. For me, I am more accurate with a baitcaster. If I feel that I have put too much on the cast, I slow the roll with my thumb. Flipping and pitching, I will stop the bait over where I want to drop ot with my thumb. Spinning reels can be just as accurate when user knows how. For instance, my wifes grandpa can no longer use a baitcaster due to his shoulders. He has become deadly accurate with a spinning rig. He can drop a bait within 6" from 30yds. So dont ever let anyone say one is more accurate than the other. However, if you over cast with a spinning rig, its kind of hard to slow it down. Just use whats comfortable.

Very well said........Putting the spinng rod under your armpit is very common too, not really necessary for bass fishing.

Baitcasters for heavy baits, and spinning reels for lighter baits.

Shimano 200's for heavy baits, Shimano 50's for lighter baits. Dont need no stinkin spinning reels.
