Sfritr Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I am so sick of the constant droning and excuses the national media has made for the "storied" Yankees....... Guess What? YOU GOT SWEPT BY A FAR BETTER BALLCLUB!!!!!!!!!!! Once again Detroit's accomplishments get swept under the rug... 2 earned runs in 36 innings of baseball. Nuff said Looks like I'm driving back to the "D" to watch a world series game next weekend.... 1 Quote

Super User Nitrofreak Posted October 19, 2012 Super User Posted October 19, 2012 As an old Washington Senators fan, yes that gives a litlle bit of my age away, I have had no one to root for but the O's for a long time, now that I have the Nats I look forward to every season. My friend is a Detroit fan, and I am a huge fan of anyone that can beat the Yanks !!! Quote

Yeah I am from that area grew up with the O's but haven't lived there but a year and a half since the nats have been in town. Been to a couple of their games. Congrats to them on their season too bad it was cut short. And Davey Johnson as their skip, loved him when he managed with the O's and he played on some good ballclubs with them too. Quote

I was born in Annandale just outside of DC, Granddad and Dad were big Senators fans, so was I till I was maybe 5 or 6, they moved to somewhere, I was thinking Texas not sure it's been so long ago LOL !! I agree Davey is doing really great but I am wondering if the same problems are going to keep happening, make it to the post season and fall just short, I can't wait for next season, it seems we are getting better, kinda like the Skins the past couple of games, we score more points in the first couple of games than we did in the past two seasons it seems and still can't win LOL !! getting better though, i'm lovin it !!! Super User MCS Posted October 20, 2012 Super User Posted October 20, 2012 Winning in the post season or not taking a division title from the braves is pretty awesome! I am sure next go around they will have less nerves from this go around. And hopefully they are hitting the playoffs when they are swinging hot bats. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted October 21, 2012 Super User Posted October 21, 2012 Being a native Detroiter I'll be rooting for my home team. As somewhat of an old timer, my mind always go back to 68', Tiger Stadium, Lolich winning 3 games, Stanley coming in to play short stop and Northrup hitting the game and series winning triple on the road. As I recall the final game was on a Thursday evening, we went downtown and joined the festivities, what a great memory. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted October 24, 2012 Super User Posted October 24, 2012 You can run, but you can't hide ! Quote
