Was able to get out today, twice! Had a morning session with Mike and let's just say you can only feed at the Hawg Trough so long..... Below is a picture of canal that goes for thousands of yards like this (overhangs, pads, grass, dead heads, and coves). Just put the trolling motor on medium and make precision cast the entire time, with moving lure of choice. After a while you become an efficient casting, pitching machine, too bad it was't catching, but fishing

Oh man, what I would do with just a jig rod!

Beautiful spot, would love to fish it.

Looks exactly like the bayous of Southeast Louisiana, except for the bayou taking a turn every hundred or so yards. Just follow the bayou and chunk for short distances. Spinnerbait country! Also shallow running squarebills, and wacky worms. Jigs do well, too.

Just replace those trees with Bald Cypress and Gum! And a few raindrops, like you have in your pic make for a pleasant day. That is, if it isn't lightning!!

I fail to see the issue with that, especially if you had the chance to spend that time with a good friend !!

@ South Fla, I can show you a similar looking canal that runs for miles, snook, tarpon, jacks LMB, peacocks at one time before the freeze, public boat ramp and hardly ever see anyone fishing. Not lip service, I have caught all those from shore, a boat would be a killer.

South FLA, your photo demonstrates once again the beauty of Mother Nature and the secret pleasure we get from bass fishing on our lakes and rivers.

Photo after photo of where we fish will show the vast beauty of America. Undisturbed, quiet, peaceful and relaxing to the soul.

Thank you for posting the pic. I have a number of pictures on my screensaver of places we fish in Virginia and they are beautiful. Most of the photos we have could be award winning pictures. However, we do not share them with the outside world as we want to keep them to ourselves and enjoy by ourselves bringing back the memories of fishing that body of water.

It does not matter if we catch anything. It is the beauty and quiet of where we can fish which is priceless.

Agreed, took out a neighbor's son and we had a great time, we caught a few and had a nice one smash the SPRO. The point is that the experience of fishing is sometimes as equally rewarding as the catching of fish.

Well said, Robert. Seems like its something far too many people forget. Just get out and enjoy it. Catching fish is just a bonus.
