I have been using the white/chartruse chatterbait and smashing the bass with this color.. I just picked up the White orignal chatter bait with a silver head and the big red eyes on the side of the head.. What do you guy think of this bait and whats your trailer you like to use.. also ive been rip stoppping in and working it like a jig.. I heard you can swim it like a spinner.. any thoughts?

I strictly use the black/blue color and have been doing well on them this fall. Trailer wise I like using a Zoom Super Chunk in black or blue. Usually though i dont use a trailer at all. I usually fish it like a jig but theyre such versatile baits they can be fished like a jig or spinnerbait. And i use both methods a lot. Ive noticed lately since its fall a lot of baitfish skipping across the surface running from bass. So I tried casting out the chatterbait and burning it across the surface or just under. The blade flickers just like a fleeing baitfish. You gotta reel really fast but its a great technique when baitfish are fleeing from bass. Try it out!

yeah im going to but i think i need some supper glue to help hold the skirt on i got a 7.2.1 and i reel so fast the skirt always slides down to the hook

i like the twirl action of a single tail grub for my trailer. its worked so well on my chatterbaits that i now use it on my spinnerbaits. wow u reel really fast. i slow roll mine on the bottom...so slow that you can turn the chatter 'off' and give a rod tip rip to turn it back on agian=that when my hits come. and of course experiment w/ different retrieves to see what they want that day. i do burn it too...especially throwing back to the same stop after a bump or miss and burning it out.

Never had that issue with Chatterbaits. Try some thin wire and twist it around the skirt. That should hold it on.

People on here always said they sucked and had dull hooks but I have caught many fish on the ones I have...more so that the booyah boogie which people said were superior.

I got a frog color on clearance but havent caught anything on it yet...I ended up melting the trailers...I always forget not to mix them with regular worms

I have a couple in Black/Blue. I use a Havoc Pit Boss in Sapphire Blue as a trailer and, this time of year, get smashed. A little pond I fish is also full of Chain Pickerel and it holds up to them very well. All I have ever had to do is replace the trailer after about every strike from a Chain. The action/chatter seems better than other similar lures I have. Planning on picking up some others tomorrow as well.

I like to add a 4" white Fin-S Fish on just about any color. Great spring/late fall bait.

yeah its just i used it so much that skirt slides off if i really am ripping it under the surface... This bait is the best bait for as me as it has caught me 5 8+ # and two 9 pounders this year. 2

A good reaction lure imo. It works in specific conditions here in the desert ponds and lakes. Seems to produce more for me in large deep lakes as opposed to small urban lakes and ponds. May have something to do with the amount of pressure these little bodies of water have. The fish there seem to spook easy. FWIW.

and the hooks are soo strong and i dont really need to set the hook that hard.. and when i have a fish on i have yet to have one get away.

yeah i love this bait was throwing black and blue jigs for most of the day switched to a black and blue chatter bait before i went into this cove and nailed an 8.3 pounder... this bait is amazing OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I have a couple of chatterbaits, but my favorite one so far is the one that was given to me. I didn't have any luck with it as it came out of the package, but I took off the Elaztech frog leg trailer and put on a green pumpkin chartreuse swimming chunk on it and bam....lit them up all day yesterday on it. Great bait.

Since I got mine last month I have been using the SK river bug in green pumpkin as a trailer. This is in my top 5 favorites

Yep. The claws or whatever you call them are joined together and can be torn apart like most bugs or creature baits. I leave em together and with the chatter and the claws paddling it vibrates like a BOB

Ill have to try that out it might be good just bc the water is colling down very early this year.. ill let oyu know how it works out for me... ive been using the black and blue chatterbait trailer with black and blue craw fatttys

I've heard good things about taking the skirt off and putting on a swim bait. May trim down one of those bruiser bait super swimmers and stick it on as a trailer.

I've got black/blue one that i throw with a zoom double tail grub (blue) on the back

I fished a new lake once this season and the structure/weather was perfect for the chatterbait...I crushed some monster bass on it.
