FISHUNTER Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Chrome/Blue has always been the winner with me Quote
HuntFishAK Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Bleeding gizzard shad has been a producer for me. Quote
IwillChooseFreeWill Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 look at the color of baitfish where you plant to fish... if the feed mostly on shad then the lighter color shad type colors with work better... if they feed mostly on bream and panfish, then go with the darker/striped baby bass and sexy sunfish type colors Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted February 25, 2010 Super User Posted February 25, 2010 I'd have a back up plan, the way they have been selling this week, might be wiped out. Quote

As of right now looking at the BPS website, half the 1/2 oz are out of stock, all the 3/4oz shows in stock, and the 1/4 oz shows a few out of stock. Quote
Super User Tin Posted February 26, 2010 Super User Posted February 26, 2010 I can't wait to see how many Red Eyes and other lipless baits are in the flea market section in 4 months. Quote
Rich Tehan Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 "Japnese Shad" is one of the best natural colored cranks I've seen - Very natural hues with a speck of chartreuse. It has a perfect dark to light fade from the top to bottom and it is translucent like many baitfish. Quote
Primus Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I'm with you on the Japanese shad color, very productive last fall, I also like the Mojarra color a lot. Quote
LAO162 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 From all the original marketing, I thought they only came in Sexy Shad Quote
NOVA Angler Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I can't wait to see how many Red Eyes and other lipless baits are in the flea market section in 4 months. It's no secret that spring (pre-spawn) is a great time for lipless cranks. We expect and accept questions about frogs in the summer, so why not lipless cranks in the spring? Folks are making too much of the influence of the Classic IMO. Quote
BucketBuster Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Chrome Sexy Shad color during the summer and fall. Gold w/ black back and I think it's called the Metallic Tennessee Shad early in the year. Also, for stained water with low clarity levels, I like to use the Red Craw Chartreuse. Quote
brushhoggin Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 yeah i went last night to bass pro and walked up to the red eye shad display and pretty much every color was available except the gold and black.(van damns weapon last weekend) people think they can just buy what he used and catch em. ;D ;D Quote

And I think a lot people buy baits, use them for an hour or so with little or no success, then say they suck, and sell them. It has happened on here and other boards I belong to. My personal favorites were the Rogue's after the 2005 Classic, chatterbaits after Rick Morris in 2006, and the original Sexy Shad craze in 07 I believe. Quote

I have several red eyes that need tuning b/c they don't run straight. That's why i switched to Xcalibur. Sure do miss that shimmy on the fall though. Quote
