A-Jay Old news i broke that junk way before ESPN Heard it on Philly sports radio..... I am not sure how i feel really. THe one plus is he has new ideas and the Eagles definitely have the offensive talent and speed to make it work but like i said before, I am not really as concerned with the offense as i am the defense. I also cannot think of one college coach with no NFL experience in the last 25 years who was succesful their first go around in the NFL. Guess time will tell Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 16, 2013 Super User Posted January 16, 2013 fly, i think you gus will be fine. You guys have an explosive offensive and a new coach that runs a fast paced explosive offense. Like you, i am concerned for your defense. Good thing this a great draft for defensive linemen and corners. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted January 16, 2013 Super User Posted January 16, 2013 Jimmy Johnson I can agree with but Switzer, not so much. He was handed a Super Bowl winning team and won but did nothing after that. Either way that is two out of probably 10 others that were miserable failures. Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 16, 2013 Super User Posted January 16, 2013 Wait, are you saying that Spurier was a failure? LMAO !!!! 1 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted January 16, 2013 Super User Posted January 16, 2013 It's actually weird that college coaches don't do well in the pros and pro coaches don't do well in college. You would think they would be iterchangeable? Nitro, Spurrier was a good coach, he was just surrounded by a bunch of nut jobs...LOL...J/K Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Sadly he is no longer with us or I am sure he would like you too lol !! He always loved having people over to watch sports with, if you were a Colts fan you were welcome ANY time, if you were not then you had to be family other than sports nights and weekends, he would not even let my friends come over unless they were a Redskins fan, but they could only be there for as long as the game was on lol !!! You or your old man ever watch Brase, Donovan and Fans? God that what the best football show ever!!!! I miss that, I remember watching it with my dad, sometimes my grandmother. Those old footballers were great. Quote

I know he was a quarter coach etc. prior but that is going to be interesting. I am not a big coaching follower have there been coaches from the cfl making it to the nfl and were they successful? Here is some trivia Rhino, jigfishn and nitro can any of you name the only american team to win the grey cup? (hint: ain't beantown - so stick that in your pipe) Quote

You could have done without the J/K, you are on the money !!! That era I think he would have faired very well had he done better picking coaches that knew how to pick players that knew how to play, his play calls were strong, just did not have the tallent on the field to be able to get those plays translated to a positive. You or your old man ever watch Brase, Donovan and Fans? God that what the best football show ever!!!!I miss that, I remember watching it with my dad, sometimes my grandmother. Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Wait a second, did he not ask who was the ONLY american team to win the grey cup ? Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Is there not an american based version of the grey cup? The only Grey cup I thought, and correct me if I am wrong please, all the games are played in Canada at least the bowl games for the cup I thought. Anyway thats what I am thinking, if thats true then the only team at I can think of that went to Canada and won was the Stallions. Shucks now I done went and got myself all confused LOL !!! Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/83rd_Grey_Cup http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grey_Cup It is the Baltimore Stallions!......who are now the Montreal Allouttes And techincally Baltimore is the only american based team to win it. I dunno if that is the difference or not. I went to one game, I was 13 they had "Big Wheel" there doing the C-O-L-T-S cheers Quote

Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Here is another ......what championship do Philly, Washington and Baltimore all have in common, but not boston? Good question, uummm the Stanley? Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Nevermind I just read the link you provided SORRY !!! Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 One of the Flutie's was the QB in that game, was it Doug? Yes, he was qb of the team Balto beat, Calagry stampeders. I remembered they won and knew the league left the usa soon after, but I was researching. So in 1994 they had like 5 us expantion teams, baltimore and san antonio made it to the playoffs and baltimore lost in the grey cup. the following year baltimore won the grey cup. The CFL decided that they would only keep 2 teams, baltimore and san antonio....Baltimores attendance was almost 40K per year the first year and in the 30's again the next. So they were doing well, but what stopped them? why did they move to montreal? Art Modell announced he was moving a team called the Browns to Baltimore. Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Good question, uummm the Stanley? Not the stanley Quote
Super User MCS Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Hint : Flyfisher will feel a little better about the fact that the eagles have won zero superbowls Quote
